Resonance Vibration At Front & Steering
viperclive replied to DaveJH's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
The other thing to change and the easiest is the anti roll bar bushes, mine looked ok on the car but after removing them they we're well shot, I've replaced the complete lot, both sides, everything so now got years of trouble free motoring mmmmm maybe! -

I had a similar problem that Matt spoke about, only like a plumb I didn't torque my wheel studs up after doing a job on one of my front wheels, the noise and vibration sounded as though a caliper was falling off but disappeared as I increased speed (centrifugal speed) that was just loose studs. 2.3 Petrol Mk1 Engine Problem
viperclive replied to looops's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I have the ones that sit on top of the plug, but hay what a stupid design to put them where it's hot so they bake themselves to death. When I converted to Lpg I was advised to change packs, plugs n leads as it's critical to get a good spark, so I fitted bosh coil packs and put 3 prong plugs in, what a difference that made, always looking for economy if possible but still got poke if needed! -

As said before, coil packs just don't last, I always carry a spare under drivers seat with the correct tools to do the job. -
Yet Another Galaxy - Obd Question
viperclive replied to looops's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
It sounds as though one of your ht coil packs are on their way out. -
Has anyone tried to replace the pully wheel or perhaps the bearing in the wheel on the aux belt tensioner (mk1 2.3 version). As it's a waste to change the whole thing when it's just the pully bearing! Clive

I had the same problem on my mk1 2.3, I replaced both top engine mounts and then the bottom anti torque bar, also fitted thick rubber washers under top caps on new struts to take out play there, I still had judder so replaced both wishbones also as both rear bushes we're on way out, this made a lot of difference but not perfect, SO, took off torque bar and noticed that I had some play on the rear bush, which has holes through one side to the other, I fitted some bolts through the holes, tightened up to expand rubber into fitting, I now have no judder! Got a photo if you want a look. Clive

The inner wire in the brake cable has a tendency to rust and swell in the sleeve, replaced with new from partstoclear (Ebay) for 21.95. Clive

my oily wheel on my aux belt tensioner is on the way out, squeals like a pig! I have a mk1 97 2.3, my question is can the pully be taken off and be replaced, or do I have to buy a complete replacement? Is it possible to change the bearing?

I would also change MOT stations and find one that dosnt feed crap to customers to try to get work, I bet they would have loved to put your air bag problem right and charged a fortune!!! -
That Airbag Light Question Again
viperclive replied to smudger's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I can assure you air bag light is not a fail, yet, only advisory, mine passed last Monday with air bag light on, my brother owns garage/mot station up north and is a good source for info for when I put my girl in for mot down here in Gosport.
