  1. If it's like a wobble then it is probably dry or worn CV joints.
  2. Check the symptoms with the a/c on and off. I had this on a Mondeo once, felt like someone just hitched a caravan on the back.
  3. Let them turn it up and then pop the door speakers :3: AAH peace.
  4. Thanks. Saves me blowing the cobwebs off my old laptop.
  5. Sorry I can't look it up but the TIS disk won't work on Windows 8. I'll try an old laptop I have and try and get it working on that.
  6. Have you got access to TIS? There are two fuses for the radio but I can't remember what they are. One will be power and the other permanent power. Check for a blown fuse.
  7. I am using Kumho tyres at the moment. They are good.
  8. My local tyre garage told me that the Galaxy does not have adjustable four wheel alignment. They did put mine on the machine after they adjusted the tracking and made the steering wheel go off centre. This realigned the steering wheel and all tyres are wearing uniformly apart from the front ones wearing quicker of course.
  9. If you have dual a/c you will have vents in the roof above the second and third row of seats.
  10. Has any one got a full set of leather seats for a 2005 Galaxy, has air bags in the sides of the front seats, etc? Thanks
  11. I'm pretty sure that none of the wiring needed exists in the Zetec model but wait for comments from other members. I also don't remember reading about a project like this on the forum.
  12. I don't hear the flaps move on mine, the air just moves about. On the later MK2's Ford fitted dual a/c to most of the Ghia spec cars. Has yours got the roof vents? If so you don't have enough gas at 700g.
  13. Sorry got my facts wrong. 700g for single a/c and 1050g for dual a/c. Have you switched the a/c on and off and listened for the compressor clutch clicking in and out? If the compressor is working you should notice a change to the engine tone as it's put under load.
  14. Have you got dual air conditioning eg vents in the roof above the middle and third row seats? I'm not certain but 700g sounds high. If the system is over gassed the system will not run.
  15. When you lift the aero blade from the screen it looks like a banana
  16. I think the Mk1 and Mk2 windscreens are identical. No extra curves, etc. Sorry I can't be much help.
  17. What year and trim level is it? Thanks I'm interested in any goodies.
  18. The wipers are flat when touching the screen. The reason for asking is I fitted a retrofit aero blade to the rear wiper and the blade did touch the arm if the wrong way up. At least with this blade the whole rear screen gets wiped unlike the standard one. The blades on the earlier Mk1 Galaxy were 28" and 26". I believe the aero on the Mk2 are both 28". Here is the site I use www.wiperblades.co.uk
  19. Silly reply but are they the right way up. If upside down they can catch on the wiper arm. It may also affect the height of the blade.
  20. The gear stick is connected via cables which have been known to pop off. I am thinking it may be clutch related if it only happens when cold, perhaps the clutch is not releasing properly. No doubt the experts will be here soon with more sound advice.
  21. I thought I would ask about tyres first. My local tyre garage0 accidently fitted normal rated tyres on my Galaxy and it rolled and wallowed all over the place. They replaced them with the correct tyres and all is well again. I currently have Kumho tyres fitted which I find very good indeed. I have read that other forum members have uprated and even lowered the suspension so hopefully they will be along later. Welcome to the forum by the way.
  22. Have you got the correct extra load/reinforced tyres fitted for starters?
  23. Try and get a 130PS. I have one and it goes very well, in fact I think it surprises some car drivers just how quick a Galaxy can be without racing or thrashing it. Remember it's a large family car. I know there are some 150PS models about but I've heard some bad reports about these.
  24. Unfortunately due to the design of the gearbox it retains some of the old ATF. People on the forum have had 2-3 changes done, after a short run, in an attempt to leave good ATF in the gearbox. The ATF going off normally causes late or iffy gear changes when cold. If you are showing a sensor fault try checking the wiring between the box and TCM because this has been known to wear through against the bodywork causing shorts etc.
