Make new ends to wires,when you find the broken ones youll cut into it anyway,be sure to splice a new bit in, dont just join the 2 ends as itll be shorter than before. I remove the whole tailgate trim panel and release loom from clips,this allows a bit of movement and gives more to work with The boot was in the way, i just cut it along its length then bound it tight with tape when finished. Inside the wing you can release loom from clips to pull it up a bit but i found it to be a PITA and didnt bother

Top up should be fine if the resevoir isnt empty

Get one off a late transit at the breakers cut the prongs off and dtick it on with numberplate sticky pads job done cost very little

I used a spark plug socket with a hex head, before giving up and cutting the cups off then impact driver in a vice

As title Due to a change of mind (and finances) i have decided to sell on the mfd and surround I bought to retrofit in the gal Bought mfd off ebay,seller stated that its got the code(stuck to unit)and nav disc tho ive not powered it up to confirm,however the original sellers listing had picture of it powered up and working in navmode. Ill try to grab the pic when im at home The screen does have a scratch upper left that u can see in the pic ,on pic of it working this wasnt really visable Also has the all impprtant day/night switch upper right,so many on the bay have this missing dunno why The surround has all switches (incl two heated seat)and two blanks ,one hole is damaged in the lower slot where your aircon controls will fit This is also the unit with serial no ending AA which im lead to believe was the later version Im looking for what it all cost me

Check you dont gave to swap a coupke of wires over (yellow and red maybe) seem to recall doing this on my old mk1 ,

Think pcv filter might be passenger compartmrnt ventilation in haynes speak ie pollen filter Odd you say its on the drivers side tho pollrn filter is always on passenger side If you are sure scttles/drains arw clear then my money is on windscreen,my old mk1 had this and does the water come in! Never did find out where as it got written off before i could replace it but seems a common fault
