Just a thought...have you checked the obvious?...alternator..battery....main fuse feed box...etcc??..checked all the relevant cables?

ok...some peeps have acid batteries,,some have calcium which is the recommended one..which is what i always ask for and use..yes ford have a technical helpline but they can be as much use as a chocolate ash tray sometimes....if you arent happy with the lead acid one..then you should tell them...i personally if it had of been me...would have insisted on the one that i wanted.. most garages will whack a acid battery in..they are cheaper than calcium ones and not every garage carries them..when ive had to replace mine..(which is only the once)..i had to wait 3 days for it to be delivered to the garage..mind..that was in the shetlands.

start simple and work up..check fuses..check all vacuum hoses...check relays....etcc...

if there is charring i would replace the main fuse feed box...easy job and cheaper to do it yourself.. The spare wheel winch is in the boot..open the tail gate and on the floor in front of you is like a flat horse shoe shaped handle..pull that up and under there in the bolt type thingy that you unwind and the spare wheel drops from below the car..

Ah yes..main fuse feed box..know it well..mine has gone poof twice now..last time took out the alternator...remember it so well....ah the memories of everything going doolally when that went. :ph34r: rev counter..speedo...bloody bleeping everysecond..then the silence ...oh the memories. :lol:

jet engine noise and smoke means it is working....... it engages (as it were)..when the temp is 10 degrees or under.. what colour is the smoke?..nice billowing white is normal i believe.. welcome to the forum. ;)
