once again off topic......so can a heavy duty frying pan if enough force is exerted to swing it to connect with a certain part of the body.. :D

even if no insulation is there we are talking 12v - not high enough to produce a reaonable current through you even in exceptional favourable circumstances Er what?!!! .... believe it or not 12V is a lethal voltage and a current of 500mA can kill you!!!!! blimey....isnt 12v a bit high for heated seats?.....unless they vibrate aswell i assume.. :D

Now..this is gonna sound daft....with heated seats......if the electrics got wet..is there not a chance of the seat becoming a bit lively?...(serious question)..just wondered...as to me...heated seats sound great..but just more chance of something going wrong..

Is poor performance on hills a symptom of a bad MAF? I only ask because our diesel Mondeo is very bad at hill starts (no power, etc)......and also gives poor MPG certainly when our maf was starting to fail it was a dog accelerating up a hill :D That fast Nik??wow...ours had to drop to second or first...just to shudder up... flies up there now :D

one point when disconnecting the battery..if you have got the stereo working by some small chance... MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE KEY CODE!!!!!!!! just thought id get that in...in case you didnt know already..or for future ref.. :D

a calcium battery is whats recommended..so that is what i get....our currant one is a varta one and cost about 80 quid i think, it was nearly 3 years ago.... At my course on weds.....you say Johnr that batteries are designed to fail after a certain length of time..i beg to differ..they can keep going 5/10 years or more..they arent designed to fail after just a few years.... Now batteries for motorbikes usually come with no guarantee as they do fail quicker.... but a car one...does come with a guarantee as it is supposed to last for some time.. For some batteries that have plugs in the top that can be filled with water...(or whatever it is)...you can actually get little tablets called bat aids to put in them (one in each cell).....to make the battery last longer.. sealed batteries have this stuff already in them...non sealed ones dont..that is why non sealed batteries do not last as long as sealed ones.i believe the calcium battery is better than an acid one...and i believe that you shouldnt mess around draining etc an acid battery considering the damage can be caused...when a new battery is X amount ..why risk yourself?.. By the way..these bat aids can be used in motorbike batteries where accesable..but you need to crush them up and only need to use half a tablet..

Yes you can replace the spring..but i tell you now..its a s**t of a job!!....the tension in it is phenomanal..I had to put the spring back on the arm when it pinged off...if you do replace it..watch your face if you try to put it on your self! As far as i know..the spring is there to keep the arm against the window..without it the arm is useless....i would look to the motor..etc...Mine stops and starts so have to sort mine out.. Not half..next time i'll just get the whole new arm!!....mind..where would be the fun in that..no spring pinging of and whacking me in the face just when id thought id got it on! :) :D

id get him to pay for any damage!! sounds like MAF is u/s..as for the rest..he sounds worse than me! :)
