New Member And A New Experience..........
mumof4 replied to Wallace's topic in New Member Introductions
all 3  when i first start up, i get an awful screeching noise and a lovely plume of greyish ( i think) smoke from the rear... First start up, the glow plug light takes a second or so longer to go out than it normally does. after this, she runs perfectly. mk2...MWAH!! -
i would guess that a disc has slipped off its shelf thingy, easy done, especially if you are putting your own discs in it. i had a 6006e and it happened to me a couple of times, you need a T10 IIRC to get the lid off, id suggest taking it apart yourself, removing the discs, and try loading them again.

New Member And A New Experience..........

welcome Mike.. a question for you, you said this is it like a screeching noise accompanied by a cloud of smoke and only happens when the car has been stood all night or all day? If so, have you rectified the fault and if you have, how did you do it? -
also, if you go to options at the top right of the topic, you can download the topic complete with poiccies!! i think its only 3 posts, not quite sure to be honest.

well..the cable has gone aagain..... they were arguing over what to watch.... so i just took the cable away..lad stropped for 30 seconds then went upstairs to play likewise the other 3. soo..in my house, from now on... telly is gonna be a treat.once a day at 6pm for the simpsons, then thats it.. Its amazeing the difference in behaviour from when they had no telly, to me putting the cable back on...then taking it away again....they are better with no tv. thanks goofy.... oo..by the way..my son has had no playstation for over a week.... that was worse i tell yer..for a few days he was hell..then once he realised he wasnt getting it back till he behaved.. he settled down.LOL. ( he still aint got it back though  )

Those with kids will know that the school hols are well upon us. Now, 4 days ago i got fed up with the kids arguing over who watched what on the telly. result??????? I took the scart cable away so they couldnt watch tv....oh dear, the tellys broke till they can behave says i to them all in the morning when they came down and went to turn it on. First day...withdrawl symptoms from the two eldest.. ( ear plugs required for first day) second day..a few moans and groans..we missing the simpsons..please mummy can we watch it!!..Nope.( ear plugs can be removed at intervals on this day) Third day, not one whinge, not one moan, all playing together, no arguing, they made up a play, they invented things to do. they drew pictures, the girls made up dances, ( throw ear plugs away ) Fourth day, as above. Today..well, i thought to myself..lets see what happens if i plug the cable back in..result?? 2 didnt want the tv back on, 2 did. then the arguments started over whether they wanted the tv back or not.... they have now all decided that they are better off without the telly, they had more fun and got on better and also did their jobs properly.Yep the telly is on at the mo, but instead of being left on, they are turning it off when they dont want to watch it. Give it a try, see what happens, the first couple of days will be manic, but it is worth it to see kids playing as they should, like we did when we were younger. Before, my kids were ruled by what programms were on during the day....its worth a try, as then you will see how much kids arent kids when they sit and watch telly. and if any of your wifeys say too busy too try it, or kids will get under their feet whilst doing housework..... i did it, and im a single mum of 4 rug rats, if i can do it..anyone can.

I ALWAYS ask for the old parts back, and i make it quite clear that i want them, when i get them back, i ask for the fault on that part to be pointed out to me. They have no reason NOT to give you the old parts back, if i were you, id get that car out of the ford garage and have an auto diagnostic done on it. You can source the parts yourself, and with help on here, fit em yourself. Dont authorise any more work on it, Ford are crap with repairing galaxys, they just keep replaceing what they think is wrong, and charge you. its a VW engine, ( depending what model u have as i aint looked to see if its in yer profile), u could try a VW garage, as they can be more forthcoming with help. But Fords? Nope. be the last place i took mine to.Im sure they train their monkeys just to replace everything till it gets running again.
-
yeah i can do it hun, pm me a new passwword please and i will reset it.

well, my kids do say i scare em, and any fig rolls that enter this house...are MINE..... i like em to suffer before i suck em dry.Rich tea biccies are no good, they go too soggy too quickly, likewise ginger nuts and malted milk biccies. Custard creams and bourbons leave floaters of icing, now shortbread..mmmmmm..gotta leave em dunked for a bit and then scrape off the soggy outer and keep dunking. But my fave for dunking are fig rolls
-
oh gawd.....that is just WRONG! and my car?/ yeah..its a mess at the mo, My fetish..i lurrrrrvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeee fig rolls..yum..specially dunked in tea so they go all soggy and then i suck the insides out. ;)

i dunno..do i have it?

New belt was fitted this morning, no juddering, no squeal. The old belt was cracked and very worn, will post a pic of it tomoz. Jb diced with death fitting the new un as car was parked on the side of the main road outside my house. Full lock, there is no noise, no juddering, just a nice smooth turn as it should be. Will let him say what he did as i just stood making cars go around me so they didnt get too close to the car.
-
yup geoff....the fusebox is around 20 quid, cable should be peanuts and is recommended to be replaced at the same time, as it can happen again if not.
-
just checked, no towing eye cover on my car. mk2, the first time it happened to me in my other gal, i tried to get help as you well know, it was only when it did go badly wrong that i was listened to.I was told there was nothing wrong with it by 3 different garages that time.Plus it was a totally different problem. what happened yesterday, hadnt happened before like that, yes it juddered in the dry, and every now and then it would lapse in the wet, but it had never gone whilst in the dry like that.
-
what is the towing eye cover?? is that for when towing ? shitting myself i very nearly did....... but we all ok which is the main thing. mine is also missing the valance/skirt, whatever you wanna call it from the front bumper aswell....
