Now this is a wild guess, but looking at mine which is a MKII, you going to have to dismantle some trim.Above the slot where the belt retracts back in is a screw, have you tried taking that out,?..the top of that trim in mine seems a wee tadge loose so it may come out...im thinking that you may have to push in the adjuster bit where you can alter the height of the belt....just a wild guess here so anything you do is on your own head.....but it is what i would try.

Roight, been having a gander to see if i could see where the oil was coming from, ive taken some pics with my phone which have been sent to nik who uploaded them for me (Thanks Nik) as my camera is U.S. Now...in this wee pic,in the centre, you can see two holes, covered in oil i might add, is there supposed to be anything in those two holes. Also above them two holes is another which you cant see in the pic. In this next pic,is the whatever it is where the black rocker cover thingy is attached to,now the half you see is covered in black oily gunge, the left half of it is clean...is it supposed to be like this? Now, everywhere i see down the right hand side of the engine bay is oily gunk, in the top pic, the oil that is on the silver thing covering the holes, feels not as oily as oil should be, but it is not as gunky as the rest of the black crud which is over everything else. There is no visable oil leak on the drive so im guessing that any slow drips are puddling in the undertray. I have tried tightening up the thingy bobs on the rockercover and i cant tighten them any more than what they are already tightened. Now the oil level hasnt moved. So whatever leak i have is verrrrrrrrrrrrrrry slow and i reckon by the amount of the stuff all over that its been going on for a wee while. And i reckon any leak i have is either spraying upwards or is starting high up...as if it was low down, how would it get so high??..(thinking out loud here) I need to know , what that silver thing is in the top pic please. Thanks. Maz

Can you repair a corroded pipe on the exhaust, the one that goes into the box?..without having to replace the section of pipe?or will i have to repair that section of pipe?I know i shall have to replace the box, i just wondered if there was a way i could sort the pipe out that goes into it without having to replace the whole of the pipe that goes all the way up under the car.

Lights On Warning Buzzer

I get a nice long beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep if ive left the lights on/handbrake on ( yes i have on the odd occasion not taken it fully off when pulling off ) /indicators on when stopped / or a door slightly open. can be quite amuseing sometimes if you have low fuel/low washer fluid/low temp outside/leave a door open(or open a door when engine running )...coz i get beep after ruddy beep!!..so reassuring to know that i will be reminded by my own car when ive left something on...pity it cant tell me the right way to go! -
no rules broken hun, just sometimes is easier to have all info about one car on the same thread, if along same lines, as will still get the same amount of peeps answering. And they will have all the info in one place. Maz.
