  1. Saw this today in a newspaper... Captions please!
  2. Because you can download the software FOC from the Ross-Tech web site?
  3. 17 A topical attachment, no less.
  4. Seven... Whoops, beat me to a 'T'.
  5. The number must also appear... Wow 1228. Some number to beat. Nah, s'not possible...
  6. Here's the craic. To post, you have to add a picture of the next number in sequence. My picture is number 1 - the next post and picture has to be number two - and so on... How high can we get without cheating or missing a number? A computer nerd forum (Microsoft Navission) got to at least 550... Here goes...
  7. They are the names of your four maiden aunts, who write romatic novels in their spare time?
  8. Hmmm. Copy, paste, sarcatic comment? :D
  9. I don't think BK was referring to me. I'm generally a happy soul. If you really want to know, I have four. All turnable.
  10. As I understand it, by using the air con regularly you keep the seals lubricated with the oil that is added to the refrigerant. The oil will eventually disperse/wash away/transport/warp factor six. Then the seal might not, well, seal. This doesn't mean that the rubber will necessarily deteriorate. So, if you never use the air con, I guess you can't really do any damage?
  11. Do the VW based diesel engines have a non-return valve fitted in the oil filter? This used to be a big problem with old VW's/Audis if a cheapo oil filter was fitted that doesn't have an integrated non-return valve (basically a ball on a spring). This could be how the tappets could have worn out - without the non-return valve the oil seeps away overnight and the tappets start the day 'dry'.
  12. Time for a banger race! Where's that bloke that likes Diesels and wants a race... he can join in too. :P (I predict Veccy will win. Especially with four kids pushing it.)
  13. It doesn't have to be like that. Just my opinion. In my experience, the more positive my attitude with people, the more positive the reaction I get. Therefore, if I am going to be late, I make sure that I'm absolutely positively definitely late. :P
  14. Bet you wish you still had the Galaxy.... at least you fixed that leak.
  15. Slow in a Diesel to get through the puddle. Fast in a Petrol so you have less distance to push it when it breaks down. Good point!
  16. Quiet???? Hmmmmm.
  17. Because he's a 'wind-up merchant' like me!!!!
  18. The recommended technique with a manual transmission is to slip the clutch and keep revs high (to keep water from coming up the exhaust) but keep your speed low to avoid creating a 'bow' wave. (It depends where your air cleaner inlet is located on how important it is to avoid creating a bow wave.) With an automatic transmission you havn't got the option of slipping the clutch. On topic, I do feel sorry for those about to go on holiday - what with flights cancelled and long delays. I heard that Edinburgh and Birmingham both stopped cars from approaching the terminal buildings.
  19. I have an older VAG-COM interface (and using release 311-2) - this won't talk to the Ford engine. Maybe later ones do?
  20. Cobham is beaten only by Manhatten - and that not the repairs, just the parking charges. Some of the older businesses around here (West London and surrounds) keep their costs down by owning their premises, and having done so for many years - this is their pension fund when they finally 'down tools'!
  21. They're big because they is more pixels. :19: (Having said that, I have an old Olympus 2.5 mega-pixel TTL camera that kicks out 500k pictures on best quality setting.) Who painted the date in bright blue on the grass? (BTW Great to see the kids do some sport!!!! Even if it is cricket...)
  22. Please see this from the FAQ... http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...amp;#entry40671
  23. It's a frame tent, with two 'bedrooms', and a kitchen area (with bay window and cooking vents). The total size is 12' 6" x 8' 10" plus canopy of 5' 3" wide. Incl. groundsheet. It looks like the attached, but in 'Plum and Blue'. Perfect condition. Price
  24. Made me think... Drilled discs = Emmenthal Can anyone think of any more cheesy allusions? Big Cheese? I mean, Bigjeeze?
  25. Is it possible that the key fob has been activated in some way, for example, sitting on the key when it's in ones back pocket? With our Mk2 Galaxy if you hold the unlock button the windows start to open - they stop when the button is released - with the windows open the alarm could go off due to air movement in the car.
