As for a Haynes book on the Sharan they have not printed one  -
I am changing both my CV joints becouse if I drive it hard round a corner it clicks a bit so will have the old ones with the rings on them, one CV I will keep as it is good but the one that clicks is of no use to me if you want the ring give me a shout, Looking at the new CV's it looks like the ring will just pull off.

I have been looking through the Haynes book on the Galaxy (even though I have a VR6 Sharan) and thought I would check how to top up my auto transmision fluid, the book says it is best to take it to a dealer as they will plug in the diagnostic to make sure it is at the right temp for checking so for me to do this would be hit or miss as to weather I got it right , then on the very next page it says about topping up the final drive level which is a different fluid but still for an auto box. I am not stupid but could someone explain what and why there are to different oils in the auto box, becouse in olden days an auto box just had auto fluid.

At a guess Black would be earth Red would be live and pale red would be live when the ingnition is on, quite easy to check with a volt meter. -

How do you know it has central locking. If it locks everything on the key dose not mean it has it The domes on the inside of the car maybe empty If it dose have C/L yes you can buy a key and get it programed If it is only on the key you can buy an upgrade kit that you can connect to the boot lock and it will operate via a remote fob . Hope this helps ;)

I was replying to your footnote at the bootom of your thread ;) Quote "I was told that if the light stays on after you start the engine then the fault is NOT a sensor " The light stay on and it is a sensor was only the point I was tying to say. The ABS dos'nt care if it's the front or back.
-
What model and engine is it.
-
Yeah I'd like to see a picy of it as well ;)
-
Must say I don't think I've seen an ugly'er MPV than the Privia, just my opinion though. ;)
-
Got disagree with the last post my abs had no problems until I changed the rear bearings and buggered one up trying to get it out now my light stays on.
-
I started on the rear end of the Sharan today done the bearings disc's and pads, one side the sensor came off easy even though the bearing was a pig to get out finished the N/S/R then went on to do the drivers side rear bearing was very easy compaird with the other side but the ABS plug was jammed in the hole and in my wisdom tapping it from the inside to try and push it out I fu=ked it. ;) Anyway breif discription of my days work on the the piont in question. Dose the rear sensor come with the lead or is it just the plug. Dose anyone know of a cheap place to buy one from I know it is a Sharan but the Galaxy one's are the same.

Another Brake Question.

Yes you could have damaged the seals,I done the same on my Voyager when I could'nt undo the bleed nipples in the end I just kept flushing fluid through them and ended up curing the problem.get some wd40 and spray it round the nipple and let it soak in,also how good are your disc's becouse if you put a new pad on a worn disc you have to give them time to bed in. -
Got them from the Tradeit the guy had them on his Audi and as they are 112 are no good for Golf's had 2 people came round to try them but could'nt get them to fit, he kept dropping his price, what he did'nt know it that they were the right one's for Sharan's and Galaxy's, I drove up to Glouster and offered him
