The factory fit sat nav will enable you to 'control' radio and a six disc VW changer or a 3rd party cd changer via an interface box.

Agree johnb80, Very disappointing!

The RNS4 standard factory fit satnav uses iso connectors on the back. The Sony Ericsson HCE-16 music mute interfaces with this straight out of the box. I think that the Parrott kits also uses the standard iso connectors aswell.

I have installed Sony Ericsson HCB-300's (buetooth) in my Galaxy and in my wife's fiesta. Both are wired through the car speakers and work a treat just as johnb80 has explained.

Buying New (to Me) 2.3 Auto
Dally replied to Steven.Langdale's topic in Questions about the Ford Galaxy
Having had a 2002 model 2.3 and my current v6, I would say that the fuel ueage on the 2.3 was not bad at all in comparison to my v6. -
Very badly designed indeed. I have to compromise between best instrument visibility and physical comfort.

Cruise Control Can Not Be Fitted...
Dally replied to a topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
VR6 Any recommendations for after market cruise control - My wife is keen to see if this can be fitted to her new fiesta. oh and any ideas as to how much it may cost. -
If you're hiring then your best bet would be either a Toyota Previa or a Chrysler Grand Voyager. These are probably the MPV's that have best person accomodation and luggage capacity. From my experience of both, these will do the job. The Galaxy will be a squeze but may be OK if you take bare minimum or use a roofbox/ roof rack or trailer.

It possibly means that your undertray is missing, allowing rain water to foul the power steering pulley and aux belt. It has been discussed on this forum on various occasions with reporting dangerous occurences with the loss of power steering.

Dave-G It does have a bracket for a 1st aid kit and warning triangle and both spots are occupied. Must have been redesigned in later models.

Blanking Pates For Rear Seat Holes?
Dally replied to mutley's topic in Questions about the Ford Galaxy
Ford do not do the blanking covers! I got mine from VW a couple of years ago on my 2002 zetec. -
I changed both my rear brake light bulbs (went within a week of each other) without having to remove any brackets. It was really fiddly on the OSR but just manageable. Did they change something in 2003 build cars??
-
wonkydog I passed my power cable through possibly the grommett being referred to. There is no need to remove any dash component. If you sit in the front passenger seat with your feet up against the bulkhead (under the glovebox) it's about under where your left foot rests. Lift the carpet at that point and have a look.

I just bought a Navman icn510 yesterday for when we aren't using the galaxy. My brother has a TomTom go and it is indeed an impressive piece of kit. I had intended to buy one but was impressed with the much slimmer profile of the icn510 (fits in your sirt pocket). Observations so far are that both are great at guidance. icn510 smaller, lighter and brigher screen - the tomtom has a far superior sound output. I would still say that you can't beat factory fit though!

They are not adjustable. Ford replaced a misdirecting jet on my previous 2002 galaxy.

Sat Nav With Dvd System (no Cd Player)
Dally replied to a topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
If you want to fit a sony 6 disc changer to a ford 5000, 6000, 6006 or 4050 head unit, the connects2 adaptor you need is part number AFOS003. If it's the VW RNS4 fatctory fit sat nav, you will need an audi connects2 adaptor which may be part number AADS003 Check the URL below http://www.connects2.com/pdfFiles/c2cat200...;connects2' -

New Style Interior Light/glasses Compartment
Dally replied to Dave-G's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
If it's the slots in the front of the actual 'plastic roofbox' (infront of the sunglasses holder) then there is nothing behind them - I've had a look. I did think about mounting my handsfree car kit mic behind them but thought that it might reduce sensitivity. May be that's what they are for if you specify factory fit phone equipment. -
Considering the car looks like a volvo, I'm dissappointed that a volvo driver would skimp on such an item resulting in an un-aesthetic, un-practical and un-safe solution!!
