  1. Its random, smooth road, can happen anywhere, replay the track and it doesn't happen again. Rough road does not produce a skip, though I suppose it could!! CD condition: tried it with nearly new, and some older, some have very minor scatches. The CD's don't jump on anything else. This is definately a different unit as the s/n is different. On average it will jump once on a 10 or 15 minute run. Edit: I should add that the jump is a 'few' seconds, not a whole track. Cheers. Oggy.
  2. Swapped the one that skipped on CD's for another and the new one skips!!! Unit is fixed in the cage ok, but have not invested in the right adapter leads yet cos I may not keep it. However I am starting to wonder whether this could me or something because I know that Blaupunkt is quality kit and that two jumping is extremely unlikely. Any thoughts??? Regards. Oggy.
  3. Thanks MM, Any idea what pin the radio lighting and dimmer is on. At the moment it seems to be on all the time rather than just when the car lights are on, and it seems to be at full brightness. Or where I can find this out! Cheers. Oggy.
  4. Getting it checked tommrow, am I bothered :D :D  What with the aircon not working properly and the aux heater non functional either the cars in a bit of a state. Its all my fault - I'm sure I said in a survey here that I had not had any problems with the aircon. :D Will post back with the results - good or bad!! Can there be a good?? :D Cheers. Oggy.
  5. Don't you get fumes dragged into the car when you have a tailgate window open? I remember driving a van with the rear door open on a dusty road and the cab filled with dust. I'm sure there is an issue there. Oggy.
  6. Really sorry to go on here but the instructs don't match what I find. I attach (hopefully) a scan of the connections from my radio instruction booklet. When I look at the plug in the car I find the following (taken in poor light so I hope the colours are ok) 1. Purple (instructs show nc) 2. No connection (instructs show radio mute) 3. Black/While (instructs show nc) 4. Red/Brown 5. Red/While 6. Blue/White 7. Red (thicker wire) 8. Brown (thicker wire) (Note: no yellow) So do I swap 4. with 7. ?? And anyone any idea what is going on with 1, 2 and 3? Cheers. Oggy.
  7. S'ok, couldn't find this before. Thanks again Steve! Answer Oggy
  8. Sorry folks :( another question. What colour are the wires that I need to swap and are they in the brown or the black plug. Also can I just pull the pin out of the plug or should I cut the wires and rejoin? Don
  9. This might help!! My Aux heater is not working at the moment and on the coolish (55 F or less) mornings we have had so far it is about 10/15 minutes before any movement on the temp gauge, then it seems to struggle to the middle but unlike blatters I don
  10. Thanks MM, With the adapter do I still need to swap the permanent and the ignition lives? Cheers. Oggy.
  11. So i still have the built in amp, it just that my new unit doesn't power it? But I have to buy a cpomplete new amp? Have I got it right? Cheers. Oggy.
  12. Ha :) , gotta keep the locals/specialists in business cos nobody on EBuyer can answer the questions here. :( :) Having a bit longer to play now its seems that the FM quality is excellent, the MW/LW is worse that the OE Scala Radio in fact its crap, the MP3 (from CD) seems good, but not sure about the manufactured CD

  17. Hi All, You know the noise that a CD player makes when it is searching for a track? I am getting a noise like that from somewhere under the dash but it's continuous
