  1. Thanks, but I won't take the bet - cos I'll bet you are right  Any idea how to get the radio out of the Alhambra? - I don't have the four holes like the link you gave on getting the radio out of a focus :D No obvious screws - nothing, except plastic trim. :D Cheers. Oggy.
  2. Hi All, At least that is what I think it stands for!! I am still wanting to replace the Scala unit on my 02 Alhambra with a radio/cd with mp3 capability but I am being told that it won
  3. Amazing what a simple question can do
  4. I think the jury is still out on who is going to survive this There is still time for the high street shops to get their act in order but whether they can with their massive overheads is going to be the test. Also I don
  5. Steve, I do understand the overhead issue and I would be quite happy to pay 20% or even 30% more to purchase locally but !00%, no way. If that is what the 'high street'has to offer the they had better look out IHMO!! I don't know exactly what your position is but I am guessing that competing with 'the net' is an issue?? Regards. Oggy.
  6. Hi Folks. I have the standard Scala Radio in my Alhambra. Can I get 198 on Long Wave? The manual says that AM covers MW and LW but ........ Just wanna listen to the cricket (or maybe not!!) Cheers. Oggy.
  7. I get the fan noise bit no clunk. Also interference on weaker radio channels until the noise stops!!
  8. LOL! I was thinking of doing the same - but for my lawn mower!! Actually I forgot to ask what did with it! Cheers. Oggy.
  9. Hi All, Got the car back and superficially all is ok. All they did was towed it in, drained the petrol, blew out the air line changed the fuel filter and apparently it started first time. added some diesel lube too
  10. Seatkid, Sorry, I realised after posting that I had missed thanking you for your first post on this. Ok, maybe its not so bad then. Thanks for the reassurance. I will post back on how it goes but I suppose that some will say that damage may not be noticeable for some time. Why the so vastly different views do you think? I
  11. Ok and thanks to all for the advice its much appreciated even though some of it did not make enjoyable reading. :( Mike and Redneck, many thanks for giving me the hard facts. I will bear them in mind but I am going to let JB
  12. Umm bad then eh!! It was running fine when I parked it up!!! Is there hope  :( Regards. Oggy.
  13. I have just put half a tank of unleaded in my diesel. Tank was virtually empty so will be at zero dilution. Drove about 3 miles home without problem but now the car won
  14. :D :D Sad_Git and Jeff115, I take it you two have some kind of formal electrical expertise or is everyone on here able to discuss like that. Most of its is Greek to me :D Oggy.
  15. Not yet, the glow plug hasn't been done yet. Waiting for the call .... but it will probably be summer by the time that it is fitted. Ooooo the excitement of waiting for winter to see if it has been fixed!!!! :P But I tell you there will no warm runs to work if I get a sensor that only cuts the aux heater in at 5 C.   It could be really odd, ambient > 5 C = cold run to work. :( ambient < 5 C = warm run to work. B) All the best. Oggy.
  16. Must have missed that somewhere. Is that the SEAT's Aux heater comes on at <5 but the Galaxy is <10???
  17. Nice one Jeff. It must be good to get that sorted yourself. Me
  18. I think a couple, well three!, things are important. 1) That the engine revs are at least 1500 rpm. 2) That it has been at least that for about 10 minutes. 3) That the aircon or climate unit is set to the lowest posible setting. If after that it is still 14.5 C then that is certainly too high. Masked Marauder - where's the graph gone  HTH.
  19. It was the run home from work so the engine varied from idle to over 1500 rpm. journey is about 15 minutes. The measurement was a bit of a bodge in that it was just with a household thermometer wired with the bulb tight to the vent. Phoned the SEAT dealer today about the cambelt and they have no record of that or the air con being serviced, so I will get in checked. Thanks for the help.
  20. Phoned the SEAT dealer that serviced my vehicle for the previous owner and they informed me that the cambelt was not changed at 40,000 miles. The person I spoke said that they do them at 60,000. I didn
