Hi All, Dunno whether this will help or not but I have a similar problem with my Alhambra except the other way round!! By that I mean that the car 'thinks' the tailgate is open when it is not. By carefully but firmly closing the tailgate (rather than slamming it) I don't get the problem. I have been wondering if it is possible to manually test the micro switches with the tailgate open? As far as Taliska is concerned would a liberal spray of WD40 on the slidy things each side of the boot lid help? Regards. Oggy.

I have only just got the car from Auction and apart from a track rod end all seems fine except for a very annoying and quite bad rattle from the dash behind the headlight switch. First thoughts are oh no, gotta take the dash off or might it not be that bad?? Haven

It seems a charcteristic of 2 or 3 year old Alhambra's that the driver and passenger arm rests suffer from paint flaking off. One dealer had tried to spray it (badly) and another had left it. Can anyone give me any idea whether they are very easy to replace and how much that bit of trim costs please? Cheers.

I'm going to be looking at a 2002 Gal with nearly 80K on the clock. (Been reading the thread about not being afraid of high mileage motors!!). It has the 115 TDI engine, and the last service was Sept 2004. Any idea what might be due in this one? I have had a look through a few threads here and I reckon it could be due for a second cam belt (I think!). Any advice appreciated.

Scuse my ignorance here but I have read quite a bit about this device but have not got a handle on what exactly it is and how it works? Questions are; Is it automatic or manual, is it fed from the hot water supply, is it elctrical or what. Its just that I have seen posts about it not working cos the temp setting was wrong, white smoke, it effects fuel consumption etc. Is there any post that covers auxiliary heaters for dummys or can anyone fill me in!! Thanks for any help.

Honest John Honest John reckons that water can get into the Galaxy 'through the ventilation' on early models but doesn't define early. Any idea when this was fixed and how bad it really was. For example was problem caused by parking on a slope? (Like I will be) Also apparently water gets into the wiper motors??? Again how common is this and on what model is it fixed? Thanks for any help.
