  1. Ola I have a suspicion that your English is better than almost everyone on this forum's Swedish!! Welcome!
  2. It does sound like a fuse has gone - Check those first. As for the bulb - You actually get at it under the wheel arch - there is a sliding hatch about mid way in the upper part - If you can't open it or it's encrusted with dirt you will need to take off the wheel arch liner - It has about 8 torx screws. You can't access it without either of these methods. If you can get the hatch open you need small hands!
  3. Could be a dodgy clutch on the compressor - failing under pressure? Firstly as Seatkid says do some checks - possibly electrical but more likely a leak somewhere - Mt Air COn recently died - it was fine at low revs but eventually petered out - Then I got the dreaded flashing display and the fans stopped.
  4. Well if certain people are to be believed you're from another world!!! or even planet:lol:
  5. Mrs BJ is a Nurse and used to work in the RCN Children's bit - She helped to devise and run the Bug Buster campaign and worked with some of the country's leading Clinicians on this very subject. Medical opinion has it that chemical intervention is pointless , the only sure way is to continuously check and comb using conditioner and a lice comb. Lice combs don't just get the little monsters they get the egg cases too - If you don't get the egg caes then you get new monsters!! Personally I favour telling the kids they have the dreaded lurgi and will fart themselves to death unless I shave all their hair off (but then that's because I don't have any little children and I am a rotten sod!!)
  6. OK Then we'll sell our Gals,Shals and Al's cos the Ford has a better NCAP rating!!
  7. Check your handbook the warning sign over the passenger sun visor and the panel inside theleft door - it's a definite no-no you cannot switch it off - no child seats in the front.
  8. John sorry to be so picky - but we have been aware and doing just this since I have been on this site - coming up three years - and I don't think we were the first!!
  9. John I get the feeling you are either a Ford Mechanic or own a Ford dealership? Your posts continually harp on the "do it via the delaer cos it's safer route!" You may be right - sometimes - but read a few hundred of the posts on here and you will soon realise the main issue with the Galaxy/Alhambra/Sharan is the poor quality of the garages servciing and repairing them. You just can't trust a large proportion of dealers.
  10. Not at all sure - but I don't think that the coolant uses ethanol. Sorry can't help!
  11. Yes you need to drill out the rivets and replace them with bolts. I did this on mine - My cable was so twisted up it had to be ditched. All I did then was to replace the bolt at the bottom end after drilling a 1/2 in deep hole to matcht eh cable (I bought from B&Q) then brazed it in place top & bottom - greased it and put it back together using bolts - and it has so far survived around 4 years.
  12. Grrr... :) You tempt fate... :) Do you mean Brrrr.... or Grrrrr....? B)
  13. I bought a nice new remote blank off e bay for
  14. Something ain't right!! It seems you've checked everything - If it is maintaining pressure then it is either the compressor or one of the switches. If as you say it affects the revs when first turned on it does snound like the compressor is working. Maybe the flaps are stuck - Get a VAG com on it to see what faults come up.
  15. Also, something seems to be missing a big gap there, there's a plastic pipe sticking out of the car on the right hand side on the passenger side behind the coolant tank and fuel filter, is this normal, it seems to be dripping water?! That may be the Air Con drain - Air Con always drips water when in use.
  16. Once you have removed the bolts you could try tapping with a rubber mallett - It's likely that the caliper body is sorroded on the slides - Once you do get it off try cleaning with a wire brush and then a very small amount of coppaslip or similar should help it to stay free.
  17. I have had exactly the same problem on my MK2 - usually after it was serviced. Check the coolant level sensor plug on the coolant tank - give it a wiggle and check the connections are good. Thats usually does it for mine.!!
  18. I know the mk.2 aircon system is not the same as my mk.1, but looking at the TIS the pipe in question (the fat one to the compressor) looks very similar. The pipes on the bulkhead mounted expansion valves are removed by undoing the torx screw in the middle, this releases the block holding the two pipes in. On the mk.1, the pipe at the compressor end is jointed with a springlock coupling - you need these to undo them... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SEALEY-Air-Condition...emZ160124741065 Use new o-rings on reassembly, including on any other pipes that are disturbed, and lubricate with PAG46 oil. Thanks Paul - I'll get a springlock for the bulkhead end - the compressor end on mine has a torx bolt. It's really annoying as the air con is currently working beautifully! I'll post some pics of the relevant parts when I get round to doing it. Cheers BJ
  19. Can anyone advise? My repaired pipe hasleaked again - although it seems to have resealed itself I have bought a new pipe. It goes from the compressor round to the bulkhead side - I have the new pipe complete with all necessary seals etc - but I can't quite work out (without stripping it down) how the pipe connects. It looks like it is a push fit possibly held in place with a bracket on the pipe. Anyone know?
  20. A Polish man moved to the USA and married an American girl. Although his English was far from perfect, they got along very well until one day he rushed into a lawyer's office and asked him if he could arrange a divorce for him. The lawyer said that getting a divorce would depend on the circumstances, and asked him the following questions: Have you any grounds? Yes, an acre and half and nice little home. No, I mean what is the foundation of this case? It made of concrete. I don't think you understand. Does either of you have a real grudge? No, we have carport, and not need one. I mean. What are your relations like? All my relations still in Poland. Is there any infidelity in your marriage? We have hi-fidelity stereo and good DVD player. Does your wife beat you up? No, I always up before her. Is your wife a nagger? No, she white. Why do you want this divorce? She going to kill me. What makes you think that? I got proof. What kind of proof? She going to poison me. She buy a bottle at drugstore and put on shelf in bathroom. I can read, and it say: "Polish Remover".
  21. Interesting point Katman - My mate was fined for speeding - they asked what he earned and the fine was "commensurate" with his earnings -
  22. Are you still losing water and oil? If the Head Gasket has gone again are there any signs - any emulsion in the filler cap etc? Water still all there? It may be warped but it is also possible that your leaking pipe caused it to overheat. If it over heated to such a degree it may plausible that the temp sender was damaged - or it's wiring. Is it actually overheating or is it just the gauge?
  23. Sounds like a good plan to me - Traffic should be Ok as the weather has put most people off travelling!. A303 is a good route - Check the A34 as theres been some serious roadworks south of the M4. Have fun
  24. My nephew is a traffic cop in Hertfordshire ( Don't worry we've disinherited him!) and he tells me that his in car pooter goes so off so often that they could probably stop 2-3 dozen cars an hour - but they have to spend so much time on processing that they ignore unless there is a really good reason (such as being involved in a robbery) as otherwise it would be all they did. Now that's bloody ridiculous
