Well I am inclined to say that (unless it got wet somehow) that it is a coincidence. I can't see how shampooing the car could get water into the cluster. Even damp would be unlikely to get in. What year is the car?

The only thing I can think of is the increased load on the engine. It can't be to do with a leak because as far as I am aware the pressure in the matrix is the same with the heating on or off.

There is, but it depends on your year and model as to the fuse number and location. But if the light is coming on I doubt it will be the fuse.

I just fill up. Once you start getting used to using the reserve as part of the tank then you don't have a reserve anymore. This is something I learned in my younger motorcycling days when I consistently forgot to turn the tap back to the main tank and would run out of fuel on a regular basis.

The pollen filter carrier was modified to stop water from the scuttle splashing onto it and then causing the screen to mist up. The modification involved masticing a plastic shield onto the front of the filter carrier.
