  1. No, not that I know of.
  2. I don't think it will be a relay, if a relay sticks on then the wiper would be working even with the ignition off.
  3. lol, when I read it I guessed that he had sourced some suitable materials, not just used a bit of hose he had lying around.
  4. It wont effect me one way or another until they are less then
  5. Well I am inclined to say that (unless it got wet somehow) that it is a coincidence. I can't see how shampooing the car could get water into the cluster. Even damp would be unlikely to get in. What year is the car?
  6. Don't forget to kick the tyres, it makes you look like you know what you are doing..... But seriously, just factor into your budget that something will need fixed....
  7. I do like it when things go right for people! I would have been inclined to overhaul the old alternator too. In my opinion people just throw money away buying new parts all the time when the old one just needs repaired.
  8. Poo! Totally slow, the security is over intrusive and it munches your memory like nothing else I know. Some nice touches, but it all seems like eye-candy.
  9. Well I am going to hire an Aquamist machine and give my carpets a proper clean. Once that is done then the mats will have to be bought for sure.....
  10. Did you hear about the retired gynaecologist who worked a couple of days a month, just to keep his hand in?
  11. The only thing I can think of is the increased load on the engine. It can't be to do with a leak because as far as I am aware the pressure in the matrix is the same with the heating on or off.
  12. It could also be broken wires in the tailgate loom.
  13. lol, we all do. I dream my aircon will work flawlessly for ever....
  14. I concur, there is most likely damp or there has been damp in the controller.
  15. Happy birthday chap!
  16. There is, but it depends on your year and model as to the fuse number and location. But if the light is coming on I doubt it will be the fuse.

  18. Too far away for me to help then! Do you know why the light came on? Have you rectifed the cause?
  19. Not without the right kit, where are you located?
  20. You lose your ABS and that is about all that would happen.
  21. The 2 litre is a drop-in replacement, common across many models that used to have the 1.9TDi unit. It will have been designed to fit with little or no trouble.
  22. Oh I don't know.......whilst the 2.0 is slow and thirsty, the few of us who run 2.3s seem quite happy with them, a smooth 145BHP, no cam belt replacement, no MAF or auxlliary heater problems.......There is also a 1.8 20 Valve Turbo available in the the Sharan and Alhambra with 150BHP which sounds a useful bit of kit. Yes, but he wants to tow a caravan. Sure you can do it with the petrol versions but at a price. In his case diesel is the way to go.
  23. Actually, it is not. Viz Paula Radcliffe at the London Marathon.
  24. I just fill up. Once you start getting used to using the reserve as part of the tank then you don't have a reserve anymore. This is something I learned in my younger motorcycling days when I consistently forgot to turn the tap back to the main tank and would run out of fuel on a regular basis.
  25. The pollen filter carrier was modified to stop water from the scuttle splashing onto it and then causing the screen to mist up. The modification involved masticing a plastic shield onto the front of the filter carrier.
