  1. Hi Onslow, and welcome. Not only is an Alhambra like a Galaxy, it is also like a Sharan, the only difference being that the Galaxy PETROL engined cars had Ford engines. The only real difference with the Diesels are the badges and trim. Your problem is almost defiantly related to the aux belt tensioner, either the pulley or the spring. My Alhambra has over 120K on it and the spring is fine, so the primary culprit is the roller. It is a bit cramped in the engine bay, so the picture above is the component parts. You will need to take the belt off and check for free play in the roller. If there is none then check the belt for wear, does it look stretched? Are there deep cracks in the ribs? If the belt looks reasonably new then suspect the tensioner spring.
  2. Yes and no. There is a retro-fit solution but it is not pretty! Do a search on the subject and all will be reveled!
  3. Intapart? http://www.intapart.com/ Don't know if they will want the hassle with sending such a small part though.
  4. We will just have to spend the next six months telling everyone what a great time they missed! Then you can start arranging the next one.....
  5. The fat pipe goes to the drier, hopefully anything will get stopped there!
  6. Thursday/Friday are my days off, I have to get my son from school at 15.15 so anytime before 13.00 should be fine!
  7. Aye, it is the whole range of workshop manuals for all VW models including the Sharan on a handfull of CDs.
  8. Where in Leicester and when? I can meet you if it fits in with my work. Failing that I can possibly get a route at work that includes a delivery in Waddington and meet you there, again it would be time/date dependent.
  9. Yes chap, same thing.
  10. You can set the pause between wipes on the intermittent setting. You switch the wipers to intermittent and then back to off. When the screen next needs wiped you switch to intermittent and leave them there. The pause between wipes is now the period of time the switch was in the off position for for. If you need do decrease or increase the delay you just switch them off and then back on again when the screen again needs wiped. Then that is the new delay. Some cars have a switch to choose one of say five delay times and some cars have a little wheel you rotate to set the delay (like a small version of the one on the dash dimmer, but on the wiper stalk.) Some cars you twist the end of the wiper stalk. Personally I find all of those methods fiddly compared to simple on-off- on operation, but each to their own.
  11. If it has factory fit it will be infra red remote. You will have a little black dome above the rear veiw mirror and one on the tailgate.
  12. It could be the sensor ring has come off a CV joint, check they are still firmly attached.
  13. No. It needs reset using a registered version of VAG-COM or at the dealers. Where in Lincs are you located?
  14. So what happens when it's all melted? :D You get water running down the windows..... Only if the roost has low humidity. If your humidity is high you find out why they are called swamp coolers.
  15. So where does the hot air go? You can't destroy energy. On a conventional AC system it goes outside via the condenser. So where does it go on your cool-box? Thats right, out the fan in the back of the box and into the car! Then where does the heat generated by the 8 amps or so drawn by the cool-box and the fan go to? Thats right, into the car! So the car will end up hotter!
  16. Aye, next time buy a VeeDub or a SEAT!
  17. See my post above, although it could be wrong! I just found the same picture for something else....
  18. Aye, that picture is not of the sensor! Will try to sort out what I can in a bit. OK, where this test box is attached to is the sensor :
  19. You just replace the MAF, no need to reset anything.
  20. Did you remove the pipe to cut it? How did you deal with the swarf?
  21. Have you seen this: http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=8956 You may be able to simply cut out the section with the hole in and replace it with some special pipe and clips!
  22. The U clip holds the sensor in, you pulled the whole sensor out chap. Unless half the sensor stayed in the hole.....
  23. Recent research by Volvo trucks has shown that with HGV Cabs aircon uses less fuel than having the windows open. All Volvo trucks now come with climate control.
  24. I have done some research on Voyagers! I concluded that the average driver is a to**er
