  1. Must be old stock or a replacement engine!
  2. Don't go on about it!
  3. Elsawin is the VAG TIS. It is available in different flavours for Skoda, SEAT, VW & Audi et al.
  4. The Idle Stabilising valve pipe is not that big. In addition the valve can only give limited induction problems. The problem here was much bigger than just a faulty valve.
  5. The oil in my Astra used to regularly get to over 110Deg C and it was not a turbo!
  6. I don't know what your suggesting......
  7. I think your looking at a stuck oil bypass valve somewhere if the pressure is really dropping that low. I doubt it is though. You need to get some one to do a proper oil pressure test with a guage and go from there.
  8. No need, I just made that up, I don't know if he has. He is a honest, safe driver though, so I think he most likely has.
  9. lol, um, the fuel I filled mine with was not exactly in the ground tanks......
  10. He has done his Group E test!
  11. I guess back from cat as everything in front and including the cat gets hot enough not to corrode too much.
  12. Anyone would think you did not have a husband for six months of the year!
  13. That would be an induction pipe then. See my first answer..... :P
  14. Well the exhaust will likely be everything back from the cat which you can buy for
  15. It is not a heathy thing for a young man to be too in love with a vehicle...... :13:
  16. Your Galaxy is a VW Sharan, look it up in ETKA
  17. VAG-COM won't work with your engine chap. And it is less then
  18. Hunting can be caused by it, but 5000 rpm to drive the car suggests something else is causing the car to run very lean.
  19. Some of the Galaxy range do not have an Ice Sensor, hance my request for more details. It could also be moisture in the system freezing inside the evaporator jet, but that is very unlikely.
  20. Done already. The drain valves were all seized solid so I only partially drained it. The valve body was leaking and the motor was knackered, so the who thing had to be changed.
  21. Well the woman kept saying that she wants her whole heating system sorted out. The boiler is fine as are the controller and valve (now) the rads are in good nick as is the pipework. It needs new Rad valves and locksheilds as they are weeping and a new indirect cylinder and tank in the loft. Also there is no automatic bypass valve. If she wants it doing then I can do it and save her mega bucks over the price of a proper plumber.
  22. Well the next thing I would do is a compression test, but then I have a compression tester so it is easy.
  23. All the flexible pipes from the MAF back to the engine. You should be looking for cracks, splits and pipes that may have come off. The symptoms you describe are the same as you would get with quite a bit of unmetered air getting in or a cylinder to cylinder gasket breech.
  24. Check for induction leaks.
  25. My mistake, I thought the thread that he had refered to (Todays one) was the one that was being refered to by MOF as being two years old, not that he had bumped this one! I will have a think, do I close this one or merge his new one ito it? Or just leave everything as it is.... Hmmmm! It is tough being a moderator..... OK, all the links on this one are dead, it can go to bed.
