  1. Nah, this is not in the tech section!
  2. As a moderator it is something that I am more than aware of. Asking people to keep chit-chat to the forum for chit-chat seems to work for some, but not others, so once a thread is cold I go round and delete all the useless bits.
  3. Someone else had this problem and changed the stat and housing. The leak was from the housing. I seem to recall the thing is a pig to get to. http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...rmostat+housing
  4. Always go for the stat first! After that it could be the pump or the head gasket.
  5. Mine started as intermittent and then went to totally failed, but my ABS ring can be spun round on the CV joint! I got a refund to my Pay-Pal account from the company I tried to buy my new CV from and ordered one from another supplier for
  6. This is what I actually ment, it works on your mobile, but uses Traffic Master's data! http://my-symbian.com/s60/software/applica...q=2&fldAuto=478 They do one for Pocket PC too.
  7. I had a free trial of TTF thought it was good, but whats traffic master? Linky please ^_^ Is it compatible with TT5 on a Nokia 9500? Traffic Master unfortuanatly is a stand-alone product, it will work on S60 devices though. http://www.trafficmaster.co.uk/
  8. I was being facetious, the plants real name is actually VW Auto-Europa, although it was originally a SEAT site I think.....
  9. Have you tried the TomTom traffic news, I found it was pretty mediocre, not bad, but no where as good as Traffic Master.
  10. That would be in the big SEAT factory then?
  11. No, they don't. Only people who contribute certified new sites now. When I sent my sites in it was still a very ad-hoc affair, you got a thank you email and that was it.
  12. So who makes them and who has always made them?
  13. You know, over the years I have contributed dozens of new mobile and fixed sites for that database, as has a lot of other people, we gave for the greater good, and now we have to pay for the database! Scammers!
  14. It will be wired to the "12v live when ignition on" so that the doors will most likely auto-lock when you start the car. According my wiring diagrams pin 15 on the back of the ignition barrel is solid black.
  15. The clock spring is easy to change. You disconnect the battery, remove the air-bag, undo the steering wheel, remove the old clock-spring, put the new one on and put it all back together.....
  16. Yes you are both quite correct!
  17. No idea, but you could be right. I will go away and seek out the wiring manual......
  18. The 2.8 is a veedub engine. The new Galaxy is a purely Ford affair.
  19. 5mA is absolutly nothing. You can safely wire that low a draw into the positive supply to the cigarette lighter. Have you any idea what function the wire controls because that low a current is normally a signal wire. So so say if for eample if it has auto-lock when the engine is started and auto-unlock when it is stopped then that would explain why +15v as it would be supplied from the alternator which provides 15V when running. Can you scan the instructions or give me an idea of what make and model the kit is?
  20. A good tip. I have used soft foam draft excluder for a similar thing, but the P profile stuff is neoprene and should work really well.
  21. OK, well he has several options, but they are all going to be +12v, although a fully charged battery is actually 13.2v and when charging is 15v, we say 12v as a nominal figure. He can take the supply from the battery positive terminal, the battery feed to the back of the fuse box, or as long as he is not going to be drawing too much drain from a always on accessory like the cigarette lighter. My personal preference would depend on the location but would be either a direct feed from the battery or the feed to the fuse box. In both cases an in-line fuse should be fitted in the wire to the remote locking device.
  22. Is it an "always on" source or just when the engine is running?
  23. Actually, it is a SEAT, but more Sharans have been sold. Your best bet for parts for a TDi is to go to your local VW dealer. It is not always the cheapest option though.
