I have the 18" RS6 alloys, and to be honest I have noticed very little difference in the ride quality, not a lot harsher, but the handling is noticeably better. The only way you would really harshly affect the ride quality is by replacing springs with lower ones.
Don't forget if your dealer can't get the parts then VW may have them in stock, I have in the past gone and got the parts from VW and delivered them to my Ford dealer to fit ! VW dealers usually keep most items stocked.
I find the mkII parking sensors perfect, it must have been a fault on you previous model, they have saved many prangs, and are a great aid. Would never be without them.
I would have thought that the mechanics behind the AC would be the same, however I would have thought the ECU would need updating with the climate control panel software. The best and only way would be to try it, maybe getting a cheap unit from a breakers yard.
Go for the top spec mkII 130bhp or 150bhp 1.9tdi, they are VW engines and gearbox, plus Bosch components not Ford. Don't be afraid of car auctions, most offer 30 day warranties nowadays. Attached is a truly remarkable presentation on Dubai and its multi billion pound developments, music is included in the short presentation. I for one would like to go there sometime in the near future, if I have any money left after spending it all on fuel ! Can't attach this type of file so PM me and I'll forward it to you.
Lets hope so ! can you tell me the Ford part number for the correct oil please, as used by dealers, as I have it printed on my reciept, mentioned in another recent post, so I can check its the right stuff, thanks.
That is a good warning, however, I know for a fact that main dealers do not always use the correct oil in the Galaxy. My local Polar Ford dealer for example looked very puzzled a few years back when I told them about putting in the correct oil, my reply from the service manager was that they used a 'one for all' oil in there serviced cars !
Kev, what year and mileage is your Galaxy ? Have a read through this forum and have a go at fixing some of your issues, the Galaxy is not free from faults, but neither are most cars, a mate of mine had a brand new BMW 5 series and its spent more time in the garage this last 6 months than hes actually driven it !
