  1. similar but I have this picture of it.
  2. everything surrounding the EGR Valve is clean. we are not talking a massive amount of oil here so somehow it must be getting into the EGR pipework and then getting out at the valve. Any ideas for this? Ford have just diagnosed a new EGR valve rather than perhaps what might be the cause behind it./ The pipe runs from left to right at the top of the engine close to the bulkhead. Roughly in the centre of this is the EGR Valve.
  3. the front lower half is covered in oil. where else would it have come from ??
  4. Does anybody have the following FINIS numbers for sale ??? 1225808 - DVD Multimedia Control Assy 1225802 - Centre Console 1128653 - Bezel 1128652 - Cap 1225820 - Bracket 6707417 - Screws Thanks.
  5. Has anybody else had to have the EGR Valve replaced on their Gal? Mine is coughing up oil and now requires a replacement at a cost of
  6. I spoke to Ford Customer Relations today and although they had heard of this recall it was confirmed this was not applicable to mine. Bugger.
  7. It was time to replace the front two tyres again. Kwik-Fit charged me
  8. If you don't slacken the bleed nipple whilst winding the caliper in you run the risk of reversing the seals in the brake servo/ABS pump and then your totally screwed.
  9. I've tried using acetone for a while but with no noticeable increase in economy. See this link for more info: http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/ind...64&m=347792&v=e
  10. what program did you use to do this?
  11. A friend of mine from work will shortly be replacing his privately owned PD based diesels with company car Saab TiDs and so no longer has a requirement for the Speedbuster boxes he has. I've had one of the analogue boxes before and for a short period was pleased with it but the amount of smoke it threw out under acceleration was just too much. Convinced that I was causing untold damage to the engine and cat I decided to get rid, but I've heard that these digital boxes are much better. If you do have a Speedbuster, or similar digital box, could you please let me know what you think of it before I buy one of these from him. Thanks.
  12. I've been offered the following warranty (mechanical & electrical) by my local dealer when the Ford Direct Warranty expires: 1 year @
  13. Who said anything about selling to some wife and kids for them to have a blow out??? In the event of this problem not being economical to rectify it should be punted onto a dealer and give them the problem to sort out. Fact.
  14. The BT garage it is then! Thanks.
  15. For a second hand car I would suggest previous accident damage is the cause here. In this case you should sell. <_< If it's a new new Galaxy then the suspension geometry is totally fu*ked and Ford should be attending to this one.
  16. I mentioned that I could supply the parts but he said that wouldn't be possible and he would need to do that. Jibbered on about the warranty etc.. but I would have only supplied original parts anyway. Should I pursue him about this?? This BT Fleet garage is in Stirling.
  17. I've read the other threads on this forum but I'm getting round to the first cambelt change on my Galaxy. Please note this includes timing belt, tensioner and idler. Prices quoted so far include: (1) BT Fleet Garage
  18. DaveM, Call me an anorak but the colour of the TDi badge on your Galaxy appears to suggest you have a 130BHP version (i.e. badge all red). The description beneath your name says you have a 115BHP. (i.e. silver TDi badge with red outline). What's the deal?? PS: I'm braced for the anorak comments !!
  19. I've had this fault a few times. First time, the cause was the condensor which had sprung a leak and so no air-con pressure. :( Second time, the pipe work associated with the air-con pressure switch had also sprung a leak and so no air-con pressure again. :( All have since been replaced and so far okay. :D It's strange though that when you clear the faults they have not come back  If this fault is "real" then it should return with a fault code fairly soon. Let us know how you get on.
  20. finally decided to try some of these bulbs out. I replaced the dipped beam with Philips Ultra Blue Vision 4000K and the sidelights with the freebie blue vision bulbs which were included. Also decided to change the main beam for Philips Vision Plus whilst I was at it !! All I can say is that fitting these is a total bas**rd  , especially the nearside and I'm not looking forward to the time when one of these bulbs blows. The decision had already been made to get the alignment checked out after so I just fit the bulbs by removing the headlights first. Made life much easier!! The results?? Well I would say 90% cosmetic :( and 10% improved range  . The whiter light from the dipped and sidelights is a welcome change from the slightly yellowish standard halogen bulb and goes some way to reminding me of the days when I had xenons on my last car (although there is no subsitute for the real thing). The range is now a little further but I wouldn't discount some of this being down to the realignment. Main beam is also improved with regards to range but the realignment will also have had an impact on this. The verdict?? Cheap as chips when the Blue Vision bulbs cost
  21. Ford do sell oil to PD spec it's just that they are often too dumb to realise it. ask for FINIS : 1343522 price :
  22. is anybody using this bulb in their Shalaxy?? I would like a "whiter light" and some improved range from the headlamps without the expense of a HID conversion and these bulbs are maybe the closest I am going to get to it. however I am keen to avoid a bulb that ends up looking blue all the time (i.e. boy racer in Saxo VTR) and so may have to opt for Osram Silverstar / Philips Vision Plus etc.... i've read the reviews by AutoExpress as given in a link on another topic on this forum but would appreciate some real life experiences. thanks.
  23. DON'T USE IT !! This is not suitable for the PD engine. Must be 505.01
  24. the second fault relates to the air-con pressure being low. unfortunately this could be due to a number of reasons from a simple re-gas to a leak somewhere in the system. not too sure about the first fault you list.
