  7. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS... removing the bearings is NOT a permanent soloution.Depending on how you drive and how much you drive the shaft WILL EVNTUALLY WEAR DOWN THE CASING THAT THE SELECTOR SITS IN as the roller bearing has been removed. If you intend to keep the car for any lenght of time it will have to be replaced. Sorry I didnt make my post clear. The bearings are still in place they had to be freed off and packed with grease. Mary

  11. Not really a lot you can do apart from keeping an eye to make sure they dont eat the wiring. Set a trap over night in beside wiper linkage perhaps. My last car a peugeot 306 had them on board......guess why I got rid of it? Good luck in getting shot of them. Mary :angry2:
  12. Hi......... That is exactly what went wrong with my gears. But since it was taken apart greased up etc its been perfect......that was over a year ago now Mary :angry2:
  13. 247 spares are quick and you should recieve loads of quotes to compare. TPS (Trade Parts Specialists) there is probably one near you does genuine VW, Seat, Audi, BMW parts and they are cheap. Mary
  14. sounds more like a bottom ball joint or track rod end or anti roll bar links. If you have a droaning noise then yes the wheel bearing is kaput they can do that for ages before they go slack. Check em out Hope this helps Mary :D

  22. Has anyone installed the Flat Ribbon Underfloor Heating that is advertised at the top of this site? It sounds ideal for our house and just wondered if anyone actually had it. Thanks in advance for the avalanche of answers I will no doubt get .......... Mary
  23. Mine does exactly the same. Think the time seems longer than it really is (10 secs) of turning over especially if on lookers!! Have no idea what the problem is but since mine has now done over 250,000 miles I put it down to old age. Another issue mine has is blue smoke for about 1 1/2 miles from cold, cant be oil as it doesnt need a top up between changes. Presume it is something fuel related but as yet I havent investigated. Mary
  24. Hi, Still strutting your stuff eh? Long time since I was called a "babe" thanks
