hi ive just started my car to bring it in the garage for a simple oil check and lifted the bonnet and i got a whif of a burning plastic smell , i lifted the small fuse box just in front of the battery and theres a series of heavy duty link fuses in there and the first one has burnt through its a metal link 150 amp fuse it had been arcing and melted the fuse box lid , ive no idea what it feeds and how its burnt out , it didnt seem loose , its burnt the holding bolt out of the bottom plastic holder,now im worried it might do it again , ive disconected it for the time being , there 2 mk 1s at our local scrap yard im hoping theres a 150 amp link in those or a passat , what shall i do??? :)

if it were the vacuumm pipes wouldnt it do it all the time , it did it on sunday just gone , and before that was xmas now listen to this , ive picked the car up and the guy at the garage said there was no faults in the memory but when i went next door to pick the car up the mechanic said there was a turbo fault in the memory , whats going on here , im being fobbed off or what :lol: B) B) :lol: :angry2:

The garage said he can't fix it if its not doing it, but you and I know this problem is intermittent, what can I do, it keeps doing it every now and then mostly from cold,is there a way to make it do it all the time

got the car back from the garage and he says theres nothing wrong with it , and its not done it on him and its not dripping oil , im getting dishearted with the gal as i know it does it and it does drip oil , what if the turbo packs in when im just out of warrenty , ill be stumped then :)

hi like my last topic ive investagated the underneath of the car following my spate of the lack of power i took the car down the road onto the bypass and i was struggling to get over 50mph i felt embarrased going that slow all i did was turn the engine off and turn it back on , hey presto it was back to normal , 115 of power again , i get no engine warning lights up but the only thing ive noticed is that around the turbo ive got a lot of wet oil and its dripping slightly from the intercooler also its round the egr , ive gunked it all off , and given it the garage back seeing as its under warreny for another 2 months , im hoping its not the turbo oil seals but its looking like that i dont get any smoke out of the back , so i just dont know. :unsure: :lol: :25:

hi some of my buttons dont work on my ford cd 6000 the next track button and to put the radio on from the cd , how do i fix these , they feel normal to press , failing that will any other ford cd fit????

ive got some more coming as spares so ill replace and try them out , my mate works in a bodyshop and they throw all the parking sensors in a big pot , ive got loads of newer vw sensors lol :18:

hi ive fitted 2 new sensors and i dont know if its normal but when i reverse upto a wall the beeps then as i get nearer it goes to a continuos tone to say im really close but if i drive away the continuous tone stays on until i press the button , is this the same with everyones :18:

hi my car has a warrenty and ive just noticed some drops of oil on my nice block paved drive (not good) ive looked underneath and the bottom rail of the intercooler has oil all over it , wet oil not dry , are they prone to anything

thats sounds a bit harsh , does it clip out ok without breaking any lugs , can i just take the grill out from the top?

hi ive come to do my 2 duff parking sensors and ive taken the 4 screws out and it doesnt seem to lift out , its like its going to snap , i cant see any screws holding it , is there a nak? also how do the parking sensors pop out ? cheers

yes ive just looked on the post office site and it is 180 for the year , damm i had 180 in cash on me aswell for the year the only reason i didnt have 12 months is because the post master said it was 215 , ive a good mind to go back and demand 12 months and redo it for 180 , do i have that choice seeing as it was his fault. :)

h ive forund 2 parking sensors on my car not working the 1 at the back not clicking and 1 at the front , would this dissable the full system , when i press the button on the dsh it beeps for about 2 seconds then i get nothing , under my floor is ok and not wet , if i just get 2 sensor will it work ok again? has anyone got any to sell me?? thanks , mine have like a puple coulor sensor on the end
