  1. have a look here
  2. you need to get the strength of the transmitter signal measured. the dealer has a little box which can measure the signal. they should do it FOC.
  3. the rear wiper is not as expensive as you think from Ford - approx
  4. sounds like air con pipe? have you got a/c?
  5. if you had the power before changing the coil pack the obvious things to check are: that you have the correct coil pack that the leads have been reconnected correctly Also check that nothing else was disturbed/disconnected/broken when changing the coil pack
  6. you will need the security number of your radio inorder to obtain the code. pull the radio out, the code is located on the righthand side of the unit. take the security code to Ford, they should provide you with the radio code, hopefully FOC. Alternatively, you can download the codes online - google free ford radio codes.
  7. alternatively, google - free ford radio codes and download the codes yourself.
  8. you will need to pull the radio out to locate the serial number - it is on the right hand side of the unit. you can then obtain the radio code from Ford or perhaps somebody on here maybe able to help as the tables are freely available on certain websites.
  9. procedure as follows: lift bonnet remove near(kerb)side front indicator refit/replace vacuum hose (see image) if the hose is perished you only need to replace that part of the hose using a suitable connector. http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/919/webdscf34262pu.th.jpg
  10. it is probably best done by an autobox specialist but search for 'transmission fluid check' (any date) if you want to attempt it youself.
  11. it is almost certainly a split hose. the cc pump is located behind the n/s front indicator. as stated earlier - do a search on cruise control and you will solve the problem
  12. i don't think it is a faulty TCM (transmission control modul). Try disconnecting the battery as stated earlier. i had a similar problem to sufc38 - at times gearbox seemed to be stuck in sports mode. Switching the car off for a time would usually sort it out for a while - you could go weeks without it happening again. eventually due to other gearbox faults i had to have the gearbox reconditioned - i haven't had the problem since but can't say whether it was the recon or the battery being disconnected that solved the problem. these gearboxes are very complex, if you have a problem you should: disconnect battery for a time (radio code) check for any wiring loom damage check transmission fluid level consult an autobox specialist to read fault codes and advise pray for cheap solution Unless it is under warranty it is no good taking it to a main dealer as they will probably only sub the work out to an autobox specialist.
  13. I recently bought a brand new compressor for
  14. i wouldn't take it to a VW dealer. it is a very basic job. VW will charge approx
  15. you say that you have changed plugs and checked for air leaks. have you checked the leads and coil pack? try spraying them with water when dark and look for any arcing.
  16. should have added that automatic temperature control is disabled. if it doesn't give cold air when set to "LO" i would get system serviced.
  17. when cc switched to "LO" permanent cooling is switched on.
  18. Am I wrong in thinking that the temperature displayed is the outside temperature and not the inside temperature? When the outside temperature is 12C the inside temperature is going to be considerably warmer inside the car and you should be receiving cold air constantly when the unit is set to lo. I agree that when set to a particular temperature in auto mode the cc should maintain that temperature inside the car.
  19. when was the system last re-gassed?
  20. 00525 - heated oxygen sensor - wiring, heating inoperative, fuel level low 00532 - ECM supply voltage - fuse, alternator, battery, engine control relay, wiring 00533 - idle speed control - intake leak/blockage sorry can't provide any more info or any info on other DTCs
  21. if car is running ok i wouldn't worry too much. i am sure that most of us are driving around with at least one stored error code. as most things under the bonnet of the v6 are a nightmare to access i wouldn't start dismantling too much. as said earlier if you want to investigate further i would just make a visual check of any hoses/looms around the throttle body/idle speed contol valve.
  22. you should be able to reach up from underneath and trigger the release mechanism
  23. try removing the tags%20at%20either%20end%20of%20the%20addresshttp://img212.imageshack.us/img212/3885/dscf16493lm.th.jpg' alt='dscf16493lm.th.jpg'>
