  1. I think they sussed us! thats the last time I eat one of their chocolate coated sugar lumps of chewy goo , I'm on the special K bars now they are much better for you ;) no freebies but you get thinner and get to wear great swim suits this summer :D
  2. either selector cables? but they usually affect more than just one gear when they fail! or the selector shaft has gone U/S! there are several topics on this problem and fixes! hit the search engine for further details
  3. We also have a raspy/rattling sound under car which needs sorting. It sounds like possible break in exhaust but I'll post separately about that.) possibly the heat shield for the cat? the fixings rust through and allow the shield to rattle like crazy! Reversing lights not working unless hold gearshift in reverse position (noticed today) the switch on the gear box has worn, common problem, the pin that pushes on the switch wears a groove in the switch, increaseing the distance between the switch and the pin so you have to push the gear lever into reverse and hold it against the stop to get the lights to operate, new switch needed
  4. you should really read page 2 of the scan :D
  5. in that case why are we jumping straight to major engine componants when we should looking at where the loss of drive is occuring? start with the clutch, if the engine is revving ok with no load in theory it should be ok under load! the main link between the engine and gearbox and the weakest link that fails with age is the clutch and its operating parts! so get it checked out first before we strip down the head!
  6. if the engine is hitting 4k and above with no load then I would look at a drive train problem? is it a slush box or a manual?
  7. you test drove a new shape galaxy? I though we were talking about the Nitro? ;) go test drive a Grand Cherokee or a Commander if you want 7 seats or try for a Dodge Durango :) the Durango is only available as an import in LHD drive only though but is real nice
  8. but does anyone really take the advice of a load of top gear wanna be's? the nitro does it says on the label, its different, it doesnt claim to be a bmw x5 or discovery, its a yank SUV shipped over here on a budget, go try one dont let a bunch of channel five second rate tv presenters put you off! :)
  9. new shoes? nope see the tyres in the top edg of the first picture? they are attached to a couple of my mountain bikes and I feel the need to buy another one :D bike that is not tyres :D but dont tell the mrs :D
  10. possible selector cables? hit the seach engine, its a common failure and fairly easy to fix!
  11. pull the other bulbs and check them out, either that or the loom to the tail gate is shorting out and cross feeding
  12. well go take the bulbs out and put them in properly! sounds like you've inserted them incorrectly and both filaments are getting a feed from the lighting circuit!
  13. REAR SEAT FOR MK1 good condition clean no rips or tears lap belt fitted but can be altered to fit any rear position
  14. nope! it wont, VR6's dont have an ISV! it's all done by magic  check for air leaks on the inlet trunking, try cleaning the throttle body and check the condition purge valve and its hoses from the head near the air filter!
  15. oh trust me it can be conned  I've done it to another of my vehicles, BUT! have upgraded the other security systems on said vehicle to protect it
  16. yes it can be bypassed and its a very simple process! save yourself the hassle of explaining to the insurance company how and why you bypassed the factory fitted security system just to save a few quid and seek out a local locksmith who can cut and program a couple of keys for you, you'll sleep better for it
  17. possibly this one? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-ROOF-DVD-FORD-C-M...alenotsupported
  18. from what I'm told, Ford operate a policy of where their dealers have to pay for the car in full before they get it on their forecourt and are able to sell it to you, which means that in order to stock and sell a car the dealer is already out of pocket! so they buy the basic cars and hold them in stock, as its cheaper for them, so if you want x, y and z extras they have to order the car from the factory direct and then pay the extra, where as other dealers/maufacturers get to pay for their stock after the car has been sold, so they can order a car with x, y and z on it and have it sitting on their forecourt ready to sell
  19. someone has ;) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...alenotsupported and check out his othere items ;)
  20. the dealers fix will require you to buy all new locks and matching keys includeing the ignition switch, and remotes! you'll need a second morgage to pay the bill! the cheaper option is to pick a set of rear door handles and replace the front two with them! de-locking the front doors, making the car just that little bit more secure and gaining loads of street cred in the process ;) while your were peeing, oops sorry playing around you probably set the rear hatch to manual operation only? as for the door not operating from the front doors, sound like you have a few broken wires in the door looms? a common fault and cause of central locking problems you could get a local locks smith to cut and code you a new set of keys a lot cheaper than the dealers will! and if you can pick up a remote blank on ebay ? your laughing ;)
  21. them http://www.allenparts.com/ford/acatalog/tierods.jpg
  22. you mean the anti roll bar links?
  23. check the condition of the seal on the cap? these are known to fail, twist, tear and bunch up allowing hot coolant under pressure to leak by the seal
  24. full door card only job! thats if you can still get them? or hit the breakers and hope they have some! the broken part is glued in place, you may be able rmove it from another set of door cards and replace them on yours , that way at least your door cards will match the rest of your trim still :D
