  1. Here's another one, again not listed as mk1 or mk2. Pretty cheap though. You can always ask Fords to see if there is a difference between the mk1 an mk2.
  2. Generally they are called 'Car & Vehicle Upholsterer's' - i have noticed that the link i supplied earlier, the seller ended the listing early with the top bid sitting at
  3. They have been long sold as i recently enquired about them - the OP kindly informed me by email.
  4. May be she meant to say this. The price does seem to match.
  5. IIRC then yes the bumper will need to come off but i have also heard people just pushing the sensor out so try to prise it out first, it may take a while due to all the dirt/grime. The front bumper does come off quite easily if its any help. You will need to remove the engine tray, remove the three screws holding the bumper underneath the car. Remove the three screws on each side from the wheel house liners. Remove 4 screws from the radiator grill. Pull the bumper forward, but before you take it off you need to remove wires for the temperature sensors, parking sensors, headlamp washer hoses etc. If i missed anything out then i have also attached a pdf doc showing how it is done. The above picture shows how the sensors are fitted, so you may get away with it by trying to prise it apart. PDF also attached for removal of bumper. 6. Hi Jo, nice to have you on board, feel free to ask any questions/queries you may have.
  7. Drivers rear. (O/S/R)
  8. Same old story, you take your car to these so called experts who either try to tighten/remove the nuts with a handbrace and give up after a few seconds then resort to using a air compressor wrench to tighten/remove the nuts instead of using the proper tools i.e A torque wrench. Personal experience - i carry a small but adequate torque wrench in the car next to the jack and insist that if they don't have the correct tools for the job then use mine and tighten the wheels to the correct settings (then check again a few days later). I shudder to think what would have happened had you been travelling with a full load and the wheel came off.
  9. Great answer George  well done, unlike from some people here..........................................i shall say no more. Another satisfied member goes away happy.
  10. Well known fault with these vehicles! Click on my signature where it begins "FAQ's...................." and you will probably find an answer at No. 45 & 68 Linkages, if yours is totally buggered can be easily bought from ebay. Let us know how you get on. P.S. Oh, by the way, welcome to the forum!
  11. caz - try this link, unfortunately, because the post/thread is old, the pictures have disapeared but i hope it helps.
  12. Let me the first to say 'Happy Birthday' gregers. All the best and have a wonderful day!
  13. Blimey mate, that's about 10 mpg  , you be better off getting a taxi everywhere! ...sorry i can't offer you advice on how to rectify it though, i'm sure someone here will pop along and see your post and offer some assistance.
  14. jkspoff, i, also have been looking to get leather seats for my car and i've seen this on ebay. I noticed he sells quite a few sets for other makes and models but the last Galaxy lot went for stupid money. I suppose that's auctions for you - i gonna bide my time and maybe get a deal when he keeps relisting them. I, also noticed his description stating that they should be professionally fitted as the original panels will need to come off, not just a matter of sliding these ones over the existing seat. P.S Looks like the leather for doors cards are supplied too.
  15. Welcome mate, we look forward to your input into this loony house! There are a few members to watch out for but i'm sure you will come across them soon.
  16. From the original
  17. Not very nice thing to say ;) Joking aside, my wife who is disabled (pro-lapse lumbar disc) finds the Galaxy much more comfortable to use than my cheap 1994 runaround even though the seat level is lower than the Galaxy. I'm sure your mum will love the Galaxy when you get her. Let us know how she gets on.
  18. My brother when he had a Mk1 had very similar problems i.e. selecting any gear. Turned out to be the linkages from the gear lever to the gearbox - it was rectified with new linkages but unfortunately meant the carpet and padding (and seats) had to be removed from the front of the car to get to under the gear lever.
  19. I have for sale a cool/warm box which has been used say a maximum 10 times over the past 2 - 3 years. It has some light scratches from installing etc etc, however still functions as it should. Comes with the lead and manual, however the manual was left in the shed next to a tin of 3-1 oil which leaked (still readable). So whats it worth? Post and packaging will be around
  20. Actually the 2.3l is lighter (1669kg) as opposed to the 1.9tdi (1724kg), i regulary chug up and down the M8/M74/M6 fully laden very merrily at well above the speed limit (sometimes) ;) Since i live in Scotland, i can quite confidently say that we have the best hills in the UK! :D We wait and see if the OP returns to shed some light.
  21. I find it hard to believe that a car which has 2.3l engine churning out nearly 145bhp can be called 'sluggish', so i investigated further: According to Parkers Guide the info is: Engine Size 2295 cc Cylinders 4 0-60 mph 12.3s Power Output 142 bhp Valves 16 Torque 203 Nm 150 lb-ft Top Speed 123 mph As opposed to the engine fitted in my car: Engine Size 1896 cc Cylinders 4 0-60 mph 13.7 s Power Output 113 bhp Valves 8 Torque 310 Nm 229 lb-ft Top Speed 113 mph And i certainly don't find my car sluggish, ok, my car does have more torque but in regards to the 0-60 and top speed, then the 2.3 petrol is faster than my 1.9tdi. P.S. I'm assuming the OP has a manual, if auto then the figures of 0-60 increase by 1.4s and top speed less 3mph.
