just cluching at straws here so shoot me down in flames, but if its the maf would a fault not be held in the ecu?thus when you disconect it still thinks its connected? so disconect it and disconect the battery(make sure you no all radio codes)let the fault clear,reconect battery and try that,just looking at it from an illogical point of veiw ;)

done that on my renault laguna,got a snotty phone call from the better half saying there was lots of smoke coming out from the engine so she called the breakdown people,yep you guess it a nice engine block smothered in oil copeous amounts of it only had a little bit left in the engine,then had to travel 20 miles to buy a new cap coz no one had it in stock,so the moral is triple check youve put it back :)

wot i would like to know is,do you hear your brakes when the rug rats are in the car?if so you must have very well behaved kids,coz mine make so much noise i cant even hear the bloody radio ;)

personally i never just use my brakes to slow down,i always change gear at the same time and use engine braking aswell as the brakes.

super glue is very good if you use the activator aswell,i tend not to use the super glue you buy in single tubes but use the industrial stuff window fitters use,far better.

sounds like the dealer knows somethings wrong with it,if hes empisized sold as seen.most dealers ive ever dealt with are sly buggers and only out to make a profit,so if the car was in good condition why wouldnt they try to sell it for top money and put a warrenty on it,me smells a rat.

try aldis or lidls they sell cool boxes,cant remember how big mine is but i know you can get 6 2ltr bottles in,iirc i paid

iirc all speedos are calibrated to run under speed for obvious reasons
