glad your finally coming to the end of your woes with this problem,bad luck its cost you a fair bit to sort it.hopefully your get a result with getting a refund.

YES but as ive already robbed the part your after aint no use im afraid ;) now i can do you a booster heater if your interested :o :o

iirc they all look pretty similar,i know there's a bunch of codes on them,but if your only after the clutch plate then pay a visit to your local breakers,even if the compressors u.s the plate may be ok.

i got another compressor from ebay and just took off what was on it and put the bits on the one that was still on the car,im sure if (when engines on)you turn the air con on you will see whether the compressor is seized or not iirc the spindle moves back.if it is seized it could be a poor christmas for you,especially if you go down the dealer route.

yes it can be changed,i had this with mine a few months after i bought it,was told the compressor was kaput so i got hold of another 1 from ebay,luckily when my m8(rip)done a service he found the old clutch sitting on the under tray,it had come off and was completely smooth on the inside we took the clutch plate off of the new 1 and fixed it on the old compressor,this should work as long as the spindle has all the splines on it,hey presto working air con,it was a bastard of a job you defo need 2 pairs of hands 1 working from underneath the car and the other pair holding the clutch plate with a pair of large grips,this saves you taking the whole thing off the car and needing a regass.its very tight down there. :) i was quoted in the region of

dunno if you have?but check with fords to see if your car has missed a recall,i done this when i had my mk1 and they ended up changing the servo and master cylinder,well thats what they told me.

when you finally obtain another key you will need it to be cut,timpsons will be able to do it for about 7 quid,compared to fords who wanted 25 robbing barstewards.

this morning the temp gauge was telling me it was 11.5 degrees outside pulld the car out of the driveway then heard the booster heater kick in :rolleyes: very tostie in a few minutes,amazing not even the end of september and theres already a chill in the air.

really like the interior,but what the hell is going on with the brown mats???????

now this might not work on everyone,but saw this on another forum and thought this was rather odd but funny, 1. Lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles. 2. Now, while doing this, draw the number '6' in the air with your right hand. YOUR FOOT WILL CHANGE DIRECTION.now thats weird. ;)
