  1. funnily enough my mk2 does this too,i thought that maybe if you have all the fans on then perhaps thats reason why it keeps going??and thats with my temp gauge showing 90 be good to see if other peeps does the same?

  5. seem to remember someone had this problem from yonks back,think they kept on putting paper in to soak it up? do you have a sunroof?maybe the drain offs are blocked? also check the windscreen?
  6. have you had a look round the pollen filter area,have you also checked the pipe for the rear washer,runs beside the passenger seat.
  7. yep fords dont,they say you cant get 1,YOU NEED A NEW ALTERNATOR. but hows this went to vw to ask for the pulley tool,SORRY cant sell it to the general public.vw are concerened about losing trade.SO WHY BLOODY SELL THE PULLEY THEN,tossers,so ive ordered a sealey set from the tinternet. robpol,no m8 that price was for the tensioner.

  9. well i bought some wipers for mine when i 1st bought my car that was about 3-4 years ago and there still sitting in the garage,so again it really depends????? i bought mine from ebay.

  11. according to this thread its 19mm, http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...l=oil+extractor but check out the oil extractors mentioned,saves you getting the under tray off. where are you,your more then welcome to borrow mine if your close?

  13. sorry for your news steve,at least you dont sound as if you/anyone was injured which is the main thing,cars can be replaced i:e WITH A 02 PLATE GHIA :) .
  14. where is this from? is it the pulley off of the alternator? if so look at the tread alternator workshop error,think its faq 50.and if so i too am suffereing this problem.
  15. well paid a visit to my local vw dealers,and got a very nice chap t come out and have a listen to the noise,and he reckons its the tensioner and not the alternator pully,because the pulley isnt bouncing but the tensioner is shaking a good en,his words,IT SHOULDNT be doing it as much as it is. so i bought a new tensioner, part no:vag 038903315ae
  16. have just read this thread,very informative. im wondering if i too am suffering from this,but within the post there are lots of peeps mentioning about the pulley bouncing?well mine imo doesnt seem to be bouncing as much as whats been reported??? does this mean its only just started?and will get worse? how long have you got before it needs replacing??i know lenght of string etc. huh.gif just guestermate. could anyone give me some through instructions on what and where and how its changed.as i aint got a clue!!! rolleyes.gif no news there then laugh.gif . muchly thanx in advance. gregers
  17. yes they are flimsey,i used a cable tie to attach mine back on,very fiddily but can be done.
  18. i had very similar problems about fumes in the cabin, do a search on the problem,with mine it smoked out the cabin.iirc there is a duct?that is situated near the door/seat belt pillar passenger side where the fumes were coming in.

  20. have you had the fault codes read and deleted?
  21. silly i know,but have you set them to lo with the selector switch??
  22. how long have you had the car? just wondering all your serching could be in vain if the car has had a new windscreen fitted?
