  1. Yes had this it was a faulty senser inside the car. Also the wipers came on the other day for no reason. Only way to turn them off was to disconect the battery. This was because of a relay switch under the wing somewhere the drain oulet from the windscreen runs right over it. This will be a problem at some stage for most galaxy Mk111 I think mine is a 2006 so watch out after 2 yrs old. The garage moved the new switch out of the way of running water.
  2. As far as I am aware. Like mine you get 3 years for most things but water leaks and trim only 1 year. Also items that may not be covered tyres ect.
  3. I would say that Ilike the new one better than the Mk2. But as I have said before its a differant car.
  4. Interesting read. thankfully I have not had those probems. I do however lookforward to the winter knowing I don't have to live with the costant buzz and smoke of the aux heater. It must be just getting to that time for many Mk 2 owners. Joking aside I do like the Mk2 with all its faults. As I say the Mk3 is not a better mk2 but a differant car completely with some faults but not the same as the Mk 2. I was always on edge with my Mk2 wondering when the aircon would pack up. Instead the turbo blow up!!!!!!!! Did not trust it after that.
  5. http://www2.fordconnection.com/fordconnect...yytmodelspc.htm Looks like you can tow the weight of the car( I would not want to tow any more) how much differance is there in weight between the 2?
  6. Had a Mk1 and a Mk2 now have a Mk3. Looked at the smax but unless you have midgets in the family the back seats are usless. I would say ride and comfort are better. Heating and Aircon far far better. Back seat passengers have thier own contols with vents in the door posts. the last row of seats have thier own if you have that option. We do and the air con is 3 or 4 times better than the old Mk2. Cold air from every vent. In fact you get waves of cold air comming from back to front as there are 2 cooling units one under the back seats. Global closing on the key is a big plus as is global opening before you get to the car to let the hot air out. Lights far better Panoramic sunroof is fab and makes the car feel very airy. Down side not as high but not far off I have had many comments regarding how much better looking the mk3 is especialy from the back. Engine not as refined but alot more responsive. Revs very freely. We get a little more mpg. just did 2000 miles on holiday and got 47mpg over all. Not towing but loaded. Love the retro air vents in the front and alot more dirctional than the old. Storage all over the place. Cds all fit in radio no more groping aroung the back any more. More seats ,although I was concerned about the space they would take up, but have been far better Than thought as I don't have to have half a garage tp store them. Extra space behind the back seats is far better. If I had a choice I would go for the mk3 after nearly a year with it. It is a completely differant car and one you have to get used to it. It has massive carying space although not quite the head room for high stuff but over all volume I feel is far more Also headrests go into the seat when down and do not cause as much opstruction for viewing
  7. Just a quick question. I have a new galaxy and would like to know if others have felt some differances over the old one. I have a 2lt diesel. When it is cold when you change gear the engine does not stop revving for a milisecond or so and sometimes the revs increase slightly. Have asked Ford who say that it could be down to not having a Aux heater and wanting to get the engime warm quicker? any thoughts? This car is so differant than the other some better points some that aren't. Smoother quicker more comfy bigger load area but not height. Better air con gets alot colder. back air vents for all passengers( These are great) Even the back row of seats on ous has air con worked from a compressor under the back seats. Thanks
  8. 2lt diesel with x pack
  9. Have just swapped my 1.9 for a new Gall Completely differant car. it has just took me to th Alps and back 2000ml. It is alot better to drive seats are better quiter just takes a bit of getting used to 41.7 mpg fully stacked cruising at 80
  10. Any help gratefully recieved. I have a 130 03 Tdi I have had the new flywheel recall done about 3 mths ago. I have just had a service at the local garage. Driving the car tonight there is a strange noise coming from the clutch area. When you pull away and engage the clutch you hear a spinning sound as if it is overspin for a few moments change gear and pull away a bit more then engage clutch for gear change and you get this over spin like somethi ng is rubbing noise. It does not appear to happen if you change gear at very low revs?
  11. As The car was on the ramps Regarding fitting snowchains. I had a look at the booster heater and pipe work. Next week it has an Mot so i did nothing. But I seem to remember someone lagging the water pipes from the engine to the heater. I might have a go after the Mot. Just thought it would not pass with lagging on? :D There are alot of pipes under that takes heat and with rushing wind under the car this must add up to alot of wasted fuel?
  12. Got a factory fitted one great for clearing misty windows on cold days when AC don't work
  13. 130 Tdi 03 Wheels 215 55 16
  14. Have just purchased a pair of 9mm chains. Have had them on a ramp to play around to see how they fit. After a play around I can now fit them without a jack and fairly quickly. ;) There does seem to be enough room to allow them to pass the suspension Strut. Will try in a local fiels to test them out. Hopefuly will not need them when we go . I only want to use them just in case. :D
  15. Have heard that ruff running can also be down to the fly wheel problem. Have heard that Ford will help with 115,s if they need a new flywheel?
  16. Just wondered if anyone has ever used snow chains when needed on 215 16 wheels .
  17. Did'nt think they used a chain now as the water from the back window washer constantly ran to allow for auto flushing?
  18. I suspect the car was less than if you went to a ford dealer. They may have said they would service it but very often they give a pre delivery service. however they should not have stamped the book if you can prove that. Take it to trading standards. First thing is get it serviced. Then send them the bill. Head rest . Sorry this should have been picked up at test drive.
  19. I would have thought you should get more than this. Even taking air con and wind. Did a trip to Brecon on Sunday MPG 50mpg over 300miles. Stuck at 65-70mph on motorways stop start on single track. Air con working it does knock you down
  20. Still waiting for the parts to come for mine?
  21. any info on snow chains ? Will they fit what to get best place to get them? Thanks wheels not steal will the fit ally wheels?
  22. We tow with a 130bhp its fine great tow car stacked up you will get 28 - 30 mpg.
  23. Also booked in about a week now waiting for parts. No problem with another car though. just have to wait till one is available. My problem is all athat tingkering around what else will they dislodge?
  24. Have had the letter today. Full recall on 130 1.9s by the look of it, I have had no problem but the letter states that there could be a problem The deakler will rrenew The Duel Mass Flywheel along with clutch disk and pressure plate>
