  1. :D The drag and flexibility seems quite realistic too, looks like a lot of effort went into it
  2. Thanks mumof4 :) galaxy_1.9TD_Zetec - I'm not sure if they're right or not, I have not removed them from the bumper moulding yet, and cannot see the part that faces in :( Anyway - ya all know that my signature ladies have gone awol for a bit... well see what I found  http://mirrored.flabber.nl/boob.cursor/ciagnijcycka.swf
  3. Mumof4 - Sorry - I thought you were selling em. :D The facelift (yr 2000 x-reg) galaxy zetec I had before my current ghia had them fitted, I'm curious how come yours don't have them? or is it a mk 1 that was left unsold for a while. Those who have sourced the price from ford - anyone got the part numbers to find em elsewhere? mumof4 - whats that your avatar is up too?
  4. Me too :( But I found a plug had been ripped off the nearside rear sensor - complete with part of the sensor itself.... temporarily pushed back on and working - till it gets wet. So I'd like one of them please mum - how much posted please? Erm is paypal ok?
  5. I refer to the femal forms that were in my signature ~ Have I been censored? Anyway - happy easter all
  6. Turnip - You might be wise to get a second opinion regarding the accuracy of your tracking, and ask that a qualified person does the check - rather than the new kid
  7. Hi john - It's just coincidence that I'm here - just revisiting so to speak - noticed a lack of responce lately though.
  8. my main gripe with the current model is the lack of space available for luggage behind the rear seats. If thats where the extra 6" are then for me it's a welcome feature. The current galaxy is similar in length to a mondeo? I mention this because some feel a longer mpv would be unwieldly - I think there is a place for both a large and smaller mpv, rather than the in between one we have now.
  9. I rarely post here anymore due to other interests. I noticed a lack of replies to some of my recent threads and figured "somat was up" Fredt, Vr6, and galaxy kid readily gave extremely knowledgeable (sp?) assistance and I feel it's a shame things came to this. Good luck to the new moderators.
  10. MM's always bin helpfull to me
  11. Thanks tim and MM, I knew someone would have it I guess you kinda noticed I dont come on here much now?
  12. For those who dont know what or where it is: http://www.citroenpicasso.org.uk/picasso/uploads/post-34-1111338992.jpg EDIT: Doh! I just looked at the link to seatkids post!
  13. Hi could anyone send me a 50K service checklist/schedule please? or tell me if it's a major/interim one etc? Thanks
  14. Righto - the local VW dealership wernt able to correlate my precise model with a precise sharan model - so there were a shortlist of two types of cv boot... 1 type wernt "handed" the other was... but you cant buy the left hand ones  went back to the ford dealer muttering how crap ford backup is... this time the full time storeperson was in attendance - he'll have em in tomorrow  I reckon I'll ask the 50K service question on a separate post - thanks guys Edit to host somat
  15. Well I dont come in here very often now (other things in my life etc) but I'm curious about the lack of response. ;) Several of the most active members seem to have emigrated?
  16. good for you Roly - I'm still trying to source gaiters Anyone able to send me a print out of a 50K service schedule please?
  17. Righto - Got the new discs, pads and bearings but ford now only buy the complete frikkin drive shaft from VW.... a mere
  18. :D With the benefit of daylight ( yea a good idea ) :D I have found the clips... around the part of the gaiters that have cracked off the main gaiter :D :D And I done a TERRIBLE UNSCIENTIFIC ting  I ran each side in turn whilst on a bottle jack, lowered onto bricks under the lower wishbone/wheel pivot point to get the approximate working height, handbrake on real hard and chocked.... whilst watching the shaft through a suitably placed large mirror and torch at various speeds. :D There appeared to be no wobble or run-out of the shaft - but a lot of ghuffing around on the discs and hubs. I had bought non ford discs from a local "pattern-parts" specialist last time I changed the pads. Running them at idle I saw there was no run out (so never felt anything on my brakes) but there was offset! The hub fitting hole was oversize allowing a certain amount of off centering. I remember thinking this was a bit sloppy when I fitted them, but figured the countersunk retaining screw would centre it up, then the wheel fixing bolts would add to getting things central :D They have machined flats in the vent parts of an edge to balance them - but as the discs have become worn I figure that balancing has eroded. The swept area of the pads remained within the boundaries of the discs. I have now loosened the screw and moved one of the discs - That drubbing noise has all but dissapeared! I have orderred new (ford) discs, pads (and wheel bearings just in case) Can anyone tell me how to examine the bearings, and can the caphead/torxhead screws in the joint be removed to change the gaiters?
  19. Aha - keep us informed please? :D I should point out that both drive shafts were replaced under warranty in early 04
  20. I've had steadily worsening wobble & drone from the front end lately which now gets alarming at 65+mph, so I tried swapping a spare on to one side - drive it, then swap the other one... no difference in vibration. I initially thought it was a wheel balancing problem, and since I rarely exceed 60 decided to leave it till next time I need a tyre changing - I seem to get more than my fair share of screws in my tyres. :D I noticed both drive shaft gaiters shown are open at the outer ends, and grease has been thrown out. It's the ones that are just protruding through the undercover (yep I still have it :D ) shown. Should there be a clip on them? There doesn't appear to be anywhere for a clip to fit - I'm thinking that part is missing??? :D
  21. And the result SX?
  22. Well aparantly this was a wiring fault - no doubt maggie will tell all about it soon. :o Just borrowin this host thanks
  23. :D OOH-eck, I would'nt fancy my chances on fitting that myself and getting all the relays and fuses back where they belong B)
  24. :D Very knowledgeable and straight speaking, where some will make a subtle comment that that could be construed as an insult and your're not quite sure - he will make it very clear if it was. :o :D In fact I'd hazard a guess he'd call a spade a shovel :D He's steered me right a few times EDIT: a typo
  25. Got a new set of track rod ends this week. I normally pay someone else to fit em but have decided to do em myself this time. can their balljoints be split with a hammer and cussing - or do they really need a ball joint splitter - If so is there any specific type needed? :( Thanks as always
