  1. I must have missed your posts - Ive got a couple you could have had for the cost of p&p we never use them - been trying to find a use for them in the shed for the last 3 years
  2. available separately from Ford - cost less than
  3. isn't there indented arrows pressed into the sill just behind wheel arch, should be able to feel them in case you have to change a wheel in the dark!!!!
  4. usually put my BT 338 in the centre compartment - works fine so I have never checked the number of satellites - I think you need 4 for reliable navigation and I can see the clock.
  5. got a BT338 bluetooth gps - no problems at all - usually put it in the top central compartment usually get 6 sats no problem
  6. I think the warranty is limited to 60k miles or 3 years whichever is the sooner :D
  7. That certainly wasn't a problem with our gal, first two stamps were not dealer they were the maintenance division of a non-affiliated long term rental company, ford then paid for drop links, brake shoes and cabling to brakes and new instrument cluster in year two. They then paid for and fitted a new autobox in year three and a new instrument cluster in year four (unsolved problem with the fuel gauge / sender combination from year two)
  8. It has to be serviced according to schedule by a competent person - doesn't need to be ford, ours had been serviced by a non-ford garage when we bought it (22k) Ford have since honoured the warranty (inc 000's for a new autobox fitted). How ford determine the competence of the servicing person/garage I don't know.
  9. Oh and if you can, check the aux heater works, this seems to cause more than a few problems judging by the number of posts here. Now that summer :( is on its way this may be difficult to do since you need to start the car from cold with air temp less than about 8C, the heater is located under the left sill just in from of the rear wheel - look for a small exhaust pipe there, its smokes a bit when starting but there shouldn't be clouds of it. Cheapest tyres I've found (215/55 REINFORCED) are about
  10. :( :( I stand corrected :P Note what Ivor said re: autobox ours was replaced with new one by ford under warranty at 45000 miles, parts + labour
  11. I don't think you could get a 90bhp one of that age - 115 or maybe 130 (think a bit ear;y for that??)
  12. Who let the sheep in ?? :( :P B) :D
  13. seconded MM
  14. but Sir I was away when you did that so I can miss the test can't I
  15. I thought it wasn't that simple - turbulent/laminar flow can produce different drag amounts and I have some vague memory from a thermodynamics course (25 years ago) that at higher speeds it can become proportional to the cube of the velocity.
  16. I've seen them go between
  17. I can't agree with the OP - my local dealership/garage has been very helpful when sorting out problem (ok they get paid for it) even for small problem which they don't always charge for!
  18. According to ford mechanic I know says there is a different glowplug specified now which reduces the smoking perhaps that is part of the modification
  19. Yes its a known problem with compatibility issus between fuel sender and instrument pod. Ford garage tried 2 instrumentation pods under waranty (18 months ago) before FORD told told them to wait for a fix. See thread here The Fix has just come out on the 4th April (tell your garage to look at their ... cant remember the technical term for ford notifications) of course the car is now out of warranty and when the garage first approached Ford they said they wouldn't pay a penny!!!! Eventually after faxing all the relevant paper work showing that Ford themselves stopped the work they agreed to pay 80% leaving us with a bill of
  20. Sounds like its going into 'sport' mode
  21. WRT to size - the galaxy wider than a normal saloon but not very much, parking is not really a problem, it is not as long as our escort estate car (didn't believe SWMBO so I had to measure it - bugger SWMBO 1 me 0), we often take ours to devon and cornwall a I was very surprised how it managed the lanes there.
  22. Sorry should have read Buggy!!!. We sometimes take the family - my father & mother, mother in law, wife & 2 kids (soon to be 3  ) out on day trips. The Folding buggy fits with the single wheel between seats 6&7 (seats full back) and stacked up on either side -soft holdalls (mainly the property of the parents + changing bags etc). 5 Longish legged adults - one other seat right back (to get child seat - young child) can't remember about the other. Ps for those that sneer at the cargo net - its definitely useful in this situation where you can close and open the tailgate without too many problems
  23. DTC - Ah Cheers - would like to by a Vag-com but SWMBO would whinge - especially now the aux heater works
