Galaxies receive much larger discounts (they're too expensive to start with!!), so more bangs per buck at best prices in my opinion.

Cruise Control Indicator

Belgian import 2003 MY Multifunction steering wheel Cruise control NO light on instrument panel. -
On my previous Galaxy (96P 2.8 V6 GLX silly vehicle), the lights stayed on because of the contact/switch on the tailgate. Maybe that's your problem?

The high pitched tone might be: Air vents - fan on and all vents shut? Glove boxes - squeeky hinges and/or contents? Wind noise from outside ? Does it only happen when you're moving? Describe the noise and the circumstances better and we might be able to diagnose... The Galaxy has a number of (tri-)unique noises!

Auxiliary heater is for heating YOU on cold days. Comes on automatically when outside temp is below 7c and you turn ignition on. It heats the car until the engine temp gets high enough to take over. Runs on after you switch off, hence the strange noise!

Talking of wipers, who else's rear one misses the window for no appartent reason, either at the top or half way down?? ;)

Is the footwasher still standard fit on facelifted Galaxy? That was my only problem with the MK1 when I had one of those (apart from the thirst of my 2.8 V6!)

Is Galaxy A Reliable Car?

From past experience....best way to ensure you don't get problems with the aircon system is...... LEAVE IT SWITCHED ON OK, not really an option for those of you with the manaul aircon (frostbite city!) but I leave my dual auto on all the time. I don't notice any difference in fuel consumption/performance with it on compared to off, according to the 'puter. I've had several Focii/Focuses in the past...believe me, it's not only they Galaxy that suffers from aircon trouble!!! -
Ohhh the speaker grilles in the "Mk1" Galaxy! I kept a stock of them! Save money...buy a facelift model! The speaker grilles are more resilient (well, they've lasted a whole month so far....)

"Approved non-dealer garage"....but approved by who??

No, this isn't a topic about sex in the back (or front or middle for that matter)! 180 mile round trip to/from work each day... Mine is exactly one month old today and has done....4437 miles   B)

Not that I'm planning to do anything to mine until it has many many miles on it (and out of warranty), but: 1) Has anyone on here done it to a 115? 2) Isn't the VW 130ps engine in the 130ps model the same engine with the chip reprogrammed?

Cheapest imported Tdi Ghia 115 probably

James, got plenty of POI websites. My windscreen mount has a self adhesive plate which sticks onto the back of the PocketPC, which magnetises it to the arm of the mount. Works very well. Got my setup here: http://www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk/...?product_id=515 Ordered at 2.55pm, arrived at 8am next day!

I've got mine on a windscreen suction mount, on the right hand side of the windscreen. Mount has a long bendable arm and a magnetic fitting for the PDA. Works a treat. I'm running a Viewsonic PocketPC with TomTom Navigator II, GPS and TrafCam software. Satnav for

Diagnosis: Your Galaxy is broken and your cat has wind or has trodden in something nasty! Solution: Get your Galaxy fixed and don't let the cat get in with you...or alternatively, make it sit in row 3 and leave the side vents open!

Ahhh yes...Spruce green...one of the 4 shades of SILVER in the current model range of NINE colours!!! Mine's Machine Silver and looks almost the same as yours!
-
My first Galaxy was a V6 - you can't do ANYTHING under the bonnet on those. There's just no room whatsoever. I seem to recall having to remove a headlamp to get at summat or other on mine...that might have been the sparkplugs too!
-
Yup, as someone stated above - horn position is not the best on newest Galaxies...how often have you honked when trying to resume cruise speed using RES button? How often have you angrily thumped the centre of the steering wheel when trying to homk someone?

If it's a 2002 it's PROBABLY a 115ps. 130ps not introduced until 1st December 2002. You can make it into approx 140-150ps with a plug-in replacement ECU though :P

I heard the Galaxy was not being discontinued/replaced until Late 2005, when it will be based on the next Mondeo, as a Mondeo "D-Max". If it happens before that and there is a manufacture/supply gap, presumably our recently purchased second hand ones might keep their values even better???

....ohh, and with Multifunction steering wheel and metallic included.
