  1. you can get trims from frauds/vw that were intended for the mk2, with the double din satnav.. they are very very inexpensive.. and it all fits perfectly...
  2. jk why did you drop the eonon e626 idea ? It looks like a good machine... I wonder if it can control a CD changer.. and what would be required to integrate it with the stalk controls.... are they really that cheap ? omg..
  3. you still playing that wolife... haha.. good luck.. are you talking about POWER A.... gits... I was in BOOM, who are allied to POWER A.. and they kicked me out after I started feuding with PA neighbours :) I currently (and for the last 8 years on and off) have been playing counterstrike (ver 1.6 not source)... lotta kids playing now...
  4. oh I meant that 1 of the good ideas was using my bluetooth on the phone to refine the ol' smash and grab technique B)
  5. 2 good ideas, ta mate
  6. I remember the 2.3 has some weird behaviour wrt the rad fan... and I do remember it climbs quite high before the rad fan kicks in. however I apologise as I have no idea why the guage doesnt drop in temp after the fan kicks in.. have you checked to see that it does indeed kick in ?
  7. have you any of the usual head gasket warning signs?
  8. umm.. I'm not really mechanicky..... but I had a similar problem once trying to get some bolt off under the car... I drove it down to my man the mechanic who initially thought of drilling into the bolt.. realised that wasnt happening.. then did a makeshift spanner with some flathead screw drivers... sorry I dont remember it well.. but I do remember he didnt think it was TOOOO big a deal..and he did get the damn thing out in the end...
  9. when I turn my aircon on.. the water temp never goes beyond half way too.. altho thats cheating really.. cause the fans kick in at low speed..
  10. heya vince, I too have the 4x4 v6, my story goes like this... 2 weeks ago, I had a course in highwycombe... course started on a friday evening.. and I live in luton.... I knew going down the M1, round the M25 and up the M40 would be choca... so I multimapped the SHORTEST route instead.. which took me across about 40 miles of hills and what shall hitherto be referred as EVIL TERRAIN !!!!.. my gearbox was also "apparently" playing up on these up down wind around and shake it all about roads.... however soon after my return on sunday night... bombing it across the motorways.. all was good hasnt given me trouble since... I've since decided that the gearbox was trying to be clever and hold the gears longer because it thought thats what I needed... tut tut...silly thing. wish you luck.
  11. hey eddie, yeah my 1st gal was bought as a complete burnout inside... I replaced the front carpet, rear carpet 7 seats... and then again another 7 seats... headlining some door cards... lots of plastic panels... the list goes on... front carpets are very easy indeed... there arent any tricky bits from what I recall... rear is even easier... btw.. my colleagues tell me I have gorilla hands.. when it comes to doing anything intricate or anything physical.... I think they mean I'm a total NOOB at fixing things...a clumsy fool even. (that said I did just strip a tosh laptop, clean the fan and rebuild all within 1 hour.... this evening.) tbh if I can do it... anyone can. speaking of which if you're local to me.. I have a spare rear carpet  (and 7 seats) in the shed. gl
  12. hmm... yeah there is a trend.. I wonder 28vr6.. is yours the same engine as the rest of us ? anyway THANK YOU MUCHLY people.. It sure puts my mind at rest.. altho the economy is killing me.... OUCH...
  13. hey mk, good luck with the sale... make sure to HIGHLIGHT LPG!!!!! enjoy your A6 (remember to keep the pollen filter clear and clean)
  14. thanks 28vr6... I did feel my cooling fan was coming in late.
  15. hmm.... can other v6 (mk1) owners pls tell me when their rad fan kicks in please.. mine waits right until its teetering on the M in N O R M.. then kicks in and goes down to the O... I really dont like it... but I've had every sensor/guage changed.. (some even twice)... .. would appreciate V6 feedback.... .. while we're there.. what is an acceptable temperature for the oil to get to ? mine will generally sit around 85 degrees in town.. but after alot of congestion it will be on 90... on the motorway its always over 100.... I havent had any problems yet.. but I'm freaky about fans and temperature...(comes from PC habits) look forward to feedback.. cheers.
  16. the mk2 set of seats that I put in my first gal (mk1 2.3) didnt turn either... tho tbh....the hassle associated with turning them leads me not to bother with it anyway..
  17. These looks REALLY REALLY REALLY NICE !!!!!! Ebay Link.. click me !! I think its overpriced.. but they do look nice... pity I have leathers in my mk1...or I could drool away at these till the dying moments of the auction... forever kidding myself that I had 1600 quid to throw away....
  18. its what I paid on my 2.3... for some reason the 2.8 belt is cheaper
  19. damn I forgot to update you guys on this... I played for a couple of weeks... it started off takin no time at all... then slowly more and more time until I was totally hooked... I had 250 population with 500 armed forces.. (I was more military oriented)... then I realised I had to leave the game for my sanity... so I attacked ppl with 300-500 population.. thinking they would beat me up... and I could leave happily.. I quickly realised that most ppl have a population to army ration of greater than 1:1... so I then go even more hooked.. because I was beating up SERIOUSLY big guys.... eventually I went cold turkey and deleted my account... if you want to continue playing heres a tip: when you see a newbie with 2 population that you arent able to attack.. make a note of when their protection runs out.. and send 80 legionnaires.. or equivalent 800 carrying resource troops to collect their goodies, the second it runs out.. because these are dormant accounts... I used to yield thousands and thousands of resources from different dormants..daily you can pay up if you want.. but he cant guarantee other bullies wont beat you up.. as a rule send your army off to fight FAAAR away when you're not around and set them to return when you expect to come back... thats another reason I quit.. I realised this damn game was dictating my life.... remember unless they have catapults they cant do any damage to your village.. just your army. also if you want to attack a gaul.. guess his trap number.. then send 2 attacks at him.. eg: if he has pop 100, he would have between 20-70 traps... send say 100 troops on a raid, followed by maybe 20 on a normal attack... 10 seconds later this gets all his resources and destroys his traps, as well as frees all your men that were trapped in the raid... oh I can go on and on......
  20. Welcome, your biological and technological uniqueness will be added to our own.... Expect Complications, resistance is futile. Have you glimpsed the perfection of Omega molecular alignment ?
  21. depending on my wallet, I do sometimes go with the high octane fuels... there is definitely a feel of power and smoothness.... on the petrols at least. I reckon its worth a try... altho the fuel suppliers would rather you used it ALL the time.... edit: oh and on the mrs' audi (1.8 auto petrol) I use it quite regularly... noticeable difference... I cant speak for the economy however.. just the performance.
