  3. Cars been in the sun all day even the red led dash warning square has faded but the parking sensors are ok
  4. Good evening sounds like they are seized :( you need to grease the pivots and the wiper assembly. I removed all of the linkages and motor to do mine also i cleaned drain scuttles and replaced pollen filters. Have a look in the FAQ i think Nik has a do it there :D
  5. Hi mate, the only advise i can give is to check and wd40 the connectors between the loom and the sensors. This is usually found under the bumpers, when i put my towbar on i found the rear one covered in all kinds of rubbish. good luck
  6. The range feature is the only useful thing my old picasso had i miss it but i re-fill when the first light comes on about 470 miles per tank. afaik there are too different messages on the mk2 gal a "refuel" light at about 10 litre from empty and a "Please refuel now" message which is obviously closer to empty never seen the second tho .
  7. Greg dont do it i had a picasso 2.0 hdi and the engine is pants  it just wont go its a shed disguised as a car probably not helping tho am i good luck with it the car is ok just the engine was rubbish
  8. If your pulling a caravan its got to be a diesel they make it effortless
  9. What happened about the warning buzzerr!!!!!
  10. Hi dave i dont know much but there is an ambient temperature sensor in the wiper area if this was faulty could possible turn off a/c possible loose wire other than that i am struggleing sorry :D
  11. Crikey i just did my wipers and scuttles last weekend and didnt think that those holes fed straight into the passenger compartment. Looks like Saturday i`ll be having those wipers off again and checking them thanks for the heads up :D
  12. Fittings available from vw for about 20 quid you need to cut both internal rear panels and rivet a sub bracket in takes about 2 hours per panel from start
  13. Blimey that could have been nasty :) bet your glad you did it now :(
  14. Crikey and i though automatics were bad :P
  15. Hi zep i too have the 2002 115 ps auto but without vibration. Years ago i had a granada with an auto box which had a vibration in fact it was almost a rumble. Fords said it would cost about 300 quid but i spoke to a small garage which did nothing but transmissions they said it was more likely the seal onthe input shaft it cost me 50 quid to fix. Obviously things have moved on but i would go to a small independant or two before going to main dealer. It will at least give you an idea of real cost. Please tell us all what it is when you find out because its bound to happen to ours sooner or later :P
  16. Hi all i have an 02 mk2 holes in headrests 3 point middle belt (reel in the roof) but i only have small brakes cause i just changed them ie300mm so did i get the bottom of the parts bin then? :D
  17. Dont forget the 7mm allen key its a ford speciality most kits go 6mm to 8mm this afaik was for the front only you also need to find out if your front discs are 300mm or 315mm in diameter mine were 300mm hope this helps. btw i use a g clamp and mole grips to wind in the rear calipers.have fun :D
  18. Hi camper dont know about the 2.3 as graham and i both have diesels but if its got a bulb failure module you should use a 7 way bypass relay it makes it much easier. I think graham tried initially to wire it up to the cd :16: (sorry Graham) but he fitted a 7 way relay no problem i think he did the fog and reverse as well
  19. Hi Yep took wipers off and wiper motor and links lovely clear area to work in . Now all back together and working great. :16:
  20. Hi all i`m one and a half hours into a changing the pollen filter ,yes i know it shouldnt take that long but my windscreen wipers were starting to slow down so i`ve stripped that out at the same time. Just having Bacon sarnie so thought i`d just pen a note to all with a 02 gal. Once i got the bulkhead extension off and the windscreen wiper motor and gubbins out i couldnt believe the amount of muck and rubbish under there :o The scuttles appeared to be partially blocked as the water was sitting just under the pollen filter, you do not want to know what state that was in :D Anyway pollen filter change dead easy, greasing of wiper system little more difficult but why was it designed like this in the first place :D So if you have got an 02 gal and have never explored under the windscreen i would give it a go even if all you do is stick the vax in there to suck the muck out. Ohh and dont forget to take the water out of the top of the suspension points and grease them whilst your there. Beats shopping on a saturday anyway ;)
  21. Hi mo4 and all i will be on hols on july 29th/30th in somerset at Brean sands but i can go to any meet in that area for picnic and chat etc i`ll be the one with the anorak on :D
  22. Hi guys i`ve got a 2002 ghia tdi auto and mine are 300mm but i managed to measure them. They cost 22 quid per disc front and 27 pound the pair for the rear.It seems cheaper to buy new metal than to skim at those prices.
  23. Hi Graham i fitted a detachable tow bar about 3 months ago and the guy i bought it off gave me a 7 way bypass relay with integral buzzer (i just read that from the label) basically you take a live from the power outlet in the boot. Wire one side of this relay to your light cluster ie indicators stop lights and such, and wire your single electric socket to the other side. Apparently it stops the bulb failure module showing failed bulbs. However this is the bit you want it cost me
  24. Hi guys had a bit of delay but the rear parcel cover is now :D had a bit of a moment when i had to cut the mounting areas and i nearly put my rivet gun through the side window  but all now done and very impressed. Vw came up trumps with all the fittings and even the correct rivets :D Cant take the seats out cause they are too heavy but they are now covered :D thanks to Nik for the diagrams they were great, is it me or is the ford tis next to useless :P
