Ahhh, i do so love the banter on here :P there hasnt been a good old ego fight on here for a while...maybe i should start one?? :lol: I know, we aint argued over MPG for a while, or even correct tyres, or about what speed you can do in which gear to get the best MPG!! a bulb, dave-g, i think the lad is all growed up, hes just incensed that ford wouldnt sell him a bulb unless he got a mortgage for them to fit it!!.I think anyone in that situation would be a bit pi55ed off.I know i would be and would probably have the same reaction.

Have to admit, there are a lot of crap women drivers out there, and their parking is appalling!!, i mean:untill i moved here i couldnt paralell park to save my life, now..im a bloody good at it.have to be as i park on a busy main road and space is tight, i got into a space where i had a few of inches spare at either end...ok so there was a loverly queue of cars waiting ever so patiently for the 20 mins or so it took me to park,but i did it!! :lol:

be aware you cant drive the car as it is. ask your auto electrician to read the codes, that will throw up any problems. In regards to the oil light, try disconnecting the battery for 15/20 mins.see if it resets.

you can reset the service light yourself.A lot of places will forget to reset it. and yep, the oil can turn black pretty quick if all the oil hasnt been drained properly. we do have a checklist on here somewhere for things to check on a galaxy.did you check the sills to see if thay had been crushed? if they stamped the book and it hadnt of been serviced, and something went wrong and it turned out they had stamped the book fraudulently, then they would be in deep dodo. a lot of places will service a vehicle before they sell it on, to minimise anything going wrong whilst its under warrenty, plus a lot of places throw a lot of bumph away that comes with a vehicle when its part ex etcc..like receipts, the only thing they will keep is the service book.as receipts show whats been done to the car :unsure: whereas a service book shows its been serviced and not what has been repaired on it. check that the undertray is on the car, as some garages forget to put them back on and not every car owner will check it is there. we all check the major things, but dont forget to check the simple things like all the seat belts work correctly, etccc.. welcome to the forum if i havent already said it :blink:

the solution was the date 23rd feb. as the date 23rd feb appeard on the 23rd jan, i thought that the problem would resolve on the 23 feb as to the forum, anything before 23rd feb wasnt recognised.so some of us who posted around the time it happened on the 23rd jan in roughly the aft, had a problem.But when the 23rd feb came around, everything was ok. thats my thinking anyway.

well, i heard about it from the guy next door this morning.he said the houses were shaking pretty bad, and considering we are terraced, i never woke up!! I didnt got to bed till half 12, and pretty much zonked out and there is a railway track at the bottom of the garden, i remember thinking at some point last night that a train must be zooming past because of the noise and rattles, but i sure as heck didnt wake up properly, i know some houses round here have sustained damage,, but..im afraid the earth didnt move for me as i slept through it all.even the kids never woke up! The fan in the ceiling in the conservatory is kinda hanging by a thread so i guess i will have to sort that out, pictures on the walls are skewiff, all in all, considering what i have heard, i got off pretty lightly considering the epicentre i believe wasnt too far from here.

when you say lumpy, do you mean that there is a lag??if so, that is the turbo kicking in as it does around that rpm. sorry, just read the 3rd gear bit. any other symptoms? welcome to the forum :wacko:

mmmm......nope i dont im afraid :) there have been a few problems with the MKIIII as posted on this forum. Reasons i dont like it are purely cosmetic...a female thing :D

The jet engine noise is normal, as is some smoke, least its working :D mine never did and by eck it was cold in the winter :o stay with us as you never know, might need us again, and maybe if there is a member near you, they may be able to help, we have members scattered far and wide and some even abroad.the galaxy gets everywhere. :D
