How??? most of them havent got a switch!, and unless you lock it... using power! they dont go off for another 30 seconds door lights you can unplug by whipping the door cards off and pulling the connectors out... the overhead light i assume should have an on/off switch..(mine did) if you have the lights by the handles like mine did..you can push em in to turn em off.. but as sk says...bigger better battery....usually size doesnt matter..but it certainly does with car batteries!

Say what you will, but the immediate problem here is not the modem but MO4's telephone line. Bet the problem started with all this rain. MO4 why not ring 151 and select the report fault option, there is an option to do a line test. Try it when the problems are bad. The Speedtouch 330 I used for many a year was as solid as a rock and fast.....USB 1.1 will handle 8Mbps.....I doubt MO4 has anything else on this port. (I do have a Netgear router nowadays for the kids......) But MO4.....If you want a 100% solution...... :lol: 1. Befriend a computer geek :( 2. ummm..the only thing i have usb in this house is my pc where the cable for the speedtouch plugs into...you lost me on most of what you said.......the only other thing i have pluggedinto the filter is my phone.Cant even blame sky as that is not connected to the phone line. my camera and pda plug into my pc via usb cable.. i need things in english as i am very pc illiterate. my phone line is crap..could that be the prob??it crackles...when i mentioned it to bt they said there was nowt wrong with it.

this afternoon, all my connection has done is disconnect as soon as it connects..the reason..no dial tone..or the remote computer did not respond/in time.i rang tiscali..they told me it was noise on the line and to ring BT..so i rang BT and they did a line check and they said the line was fine and that i had to call my internet provider..sooo i rang tiscali again was on hold for about 10 mins and in that 10 mins it connected and disconnected as soon as it connected!..Tiscali still insist that it is a line problem and to get back in touch with BT!!my connection has disconnected 4 times so far whilst writing this reply..and my speed still says 7.6.

I don't know - it wasn't my decision.... ah well........it must of been someones decision.....

well my speed is showing as 7.6.But it is taking about 10 seconds to load a page!..even then im having to refresh to get it to load when it freezes.

But isn't that when its first set up??i know for the first week or so after it became active the speed was all over the place, but this is 4 months later so shouldnt it already have determined the correct speed for my line which i am presumeing is 7.6mbps, as that is the highest it goes.?

well mine has gone from 7.6...to 6.3 then it was 5..now its 4.8 mbps!next stop..it will keep disconnecting and take an age to reconnect.

Just installed spybot and will run it in a mo..here are two screen shots of the processes...i have noooooooooooo idea what the majority of them are!

cant see why i would be throttled as i hardly every download anything.I downloaded some music last week, but only 5 tracks.so that is hardly exceeding a quota is it?? :lol: sometimes when i load a page, i.e...switch pages on here..i have to refresh to get the page up.

OK..just done a test on line....and here is my local exchange.. Coningsby at HUNTERS LANE LN44PB so umm..yes..i am practically sat on top of the exchange as according to the test my line can support 24mbps!!! i used this comparison site to see where the exchange was, http://products.xelector.com/guardian/Broadband/

the little pc to pc icon in the task bar always shows 7.6mbps..no matter how slow it is on loading a page..I have no idea where the telephone exchange is. I used the maidenhead green triangle thingy on the speed test just now whilst typing this and the speed is upload=375kbs download=496 useing the recommended server in london (yellow triangle thingy) upload=383kbs download=307kbs

umm...i dont think it is the MAF, as when it goes, it goes and the power doesnt return or go back to normal.If unplugging the MAF makes the car run better, then yes it is the MAF, but if it makes it worse..then it isnt why your car lost power.The car will become a slug when the Maf goes.
