hi , tried that one but still no warning buzz i am only getting this noise every couple of days/ weeks sometimes so cant be anything really wrong otherwise would have shown itself by now i would have thought, so just have to wait ans see if it shows itself for me to find out what it is hopefully when i change it in about 3 years time lol anyway thanks any other ideas would be great, it seems to make this buzz noise in the mornings when the car is cold , all doors are shut light goes off on the turn of the key start the engine and then the buzz last for about 2 secs then goes , dont hear it proberbly in a few days or so , very strange why it wont show itself or something annoying, hope someone can eventually find out what it is or what its for thanks smoggy

hi, just had mine done , water in the footwell common problem as it was rightly pointed out, but mine went to far and blew the whole unit, you may be luck in trying to dry it out and rechecking it, that is one possibility also my sensor in the bumber was faulty also so had to replace that too check the wiring to all sensors first before taking a trip to fords as mine was under warranty it cost them

hi all, got them working a loose wire connection at least i had more light to work with this morning rather than last night also blown fuse no 56 parking light which also works the tail light so at least i got it all working now lol still a good thing on these forums is it saves you a trip to the local ford or garage and pay

A/c How Does It Work?
smoggy7 replied to smoggy7's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
hi guys thanks for the comments but if it is the resistor does the a/c work on all 4 settings what i mean is that at the moment the only time the a/c is on is no-2 setting when 3&4 is selected it goes off, what i am trying to explain is that should the a/c when selected work on the higher 3&4 settings or just on number2 setting? as the light comes on when no-2 is selected then goes out when 3&4 is selected is this normal or should it light up when 3&4 settings is selected thanks smoggy -

hi thanks for that but if the fan is running on 3 & 4 shouldnt it work then its only 1&2 thats faulty or because the number 2 isnt working then the a/c wont work at all then is that what your telling me / thanks when you say unit and plugs are you talking about the plugs that the switches are connected to from behind / smoggy -
hi guys can you tell me how the a/c work plz, when you turn the heater switch to 4 for the fast blower then put it down to 2 the a/c light comes on then if i turn it up to 3 or 4 again the a/c goes of so is it only on no-2 that the a/c can be used or should it be able to run on the higher numbers i have tried to push the a/c button to light up on numbers 3& 4 but it dont light up, also my no 1 & 2 on the blower isnt working but 3 and 4 are ok have been told its the resistor how much are these about plz? its on a 1.9 tdi galaxy many thanks smoggy

Windscren Wipers ( Again!)
smoggy7 replied to Zork's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
hi, yes i agree with that but i used a lump hammer to get mine out lol so must be a little stronger than we thought then lol, but you have to be carefull also i forgot to mention that once the whole unit is out how easy it was to see and fit the filter for the air con i wish i had gone out and bought a brand new one as it would have saved me the trouble still mine was quite new so not really bothered , no probs mike me very happy now been out in the rain and the wiper go like hell now i am real chuffed, also the other way to loosen the spindle is put the bolt in the vice spray with wd40 and grab the whole linkage and turn from side to side until it loosens then tap it a couple of times and restart again until it do eventually come good takes ages but well worth the wait i think thanks smoggy how you getting on with them spindles mate any luck with it? -

Windscren Wipers ( Again!)
smoggy7 replied to Zork's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
hi mate, just to let you know i have just spent 3 hours working on my wipers same problem as you are having the spindles were seized solid and has to come out to be cleaned and regreased there were 3 spindles on mine so done all 3 what a difference it made better wipers now and gliding over the screen instead of slow and dragging wipers reall not that difficult to get at and to take out, the clip that is attached to the motor side just push in the two clips and pull out was alittle stuck but got it in the end there is just to the right of the clip is a plastic clip attached to it to keep the wires away from moving parts i had to use a screw driver just to release it once this was all done then undo the 3 brass nuts you cant miss them once you have taken all that plastic trim and crap off the whole unit then just pull away and a bit fiddly but it comes out all together, put on a bench and take out the c clip and washer and pull the spindle through , mine was not as easy on the one side seized solid so sprayed with wd40 soaked in for a while then we had to use a block to protect the thread and had to hit it with an hammer that was the only way we could get it out once out sprayed with wd40 cleaned the spindle and regreased them put back together and do the same to the others refit the unit and all should be ok try it i did and saved me -
