hi guys, i have kept a close eye on the leak and have found that after replacing the clip to a jubilee it has not leaked at all very dry and clean, so it must have been that stupid other clip that they use not correctly holding the hose in place and under pressure must have leaked out but at the moment none so i am alittle releaved thanks to all smoggy
-
hi, thanks for that will keep an eye just to be safe , it hasnt changed the performance of the car so happy enough just to leave it for the time being thanks for the reply guys , smoggy

hi, thanks for the reply i have been putting in more oil lately but will soon see now i have replaced the clip , can oil leak where i have marked it on the picture uploaded many thanks smoggy
-
hi guys i replaced the hose clip to a jubilee clip as it looked knackered and the hose was very wet, can you tell me is there anywhere around that area the oil can leak out from i have washed it all down and it looks better, i will give it a week now and see if it gets oily again, i must apoligise to a user that told me if i took off this pipe that nothing would come out spot on thanks , this is different set up to my other gal i had , i was told to replace the clip and clean all around the area where the oil was sitting which was around the hose where it sits to the intercooler fingers crossed eh thanks smoggy
-
hi , its the bottom hose and that is the hose that loses the water/antifreeze , i changed this pipe on my other galaxy and changed the whole anifreeze and water before i sold her its definately that pipe that when taken off it loses the coolant, thanks smoggy
-
hi guys, ive had this looked at and its the hose pipe on the inter cooler the clip aint the best so the bloke said so will have to check pipe for splits and recomend changing the clip for a new one, only trouble i got is when removing this pipe it loses all the antifreeze so when i have time i will do it all, but at least it iant the air con lol thanks smoggy7
-
hi again sorry guys would this be water? split in the hose pipe, as the tray is soaking wet which looks like oil it is rather hard to say what it is at the moment or can it be water from somewhere else any ideas much apprecited thanks smoggy
-
hi guys ok i have just had my oil and filter change by my machanic and he has noticed that the bottom radiator hose the big one has become soiled in what look like oil but he has told me that it maybe something to do with the aircon, there is no oil leaking from the engine as he has checked all is ok at the front on the engine and no leaks its just that this hose is wet and dripping into the try below any ideas plz so i can get it sorted many thanks smoggy or has anyone had the problem in the past

Glow Plug Warning Light
smoggy7 replied to smoggy7's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
hi nik, i havent changed the break switch as yet all i done was reset the plunger just to check if the flashing light would go and it did so i suppose it must be this fault with the switch that caused it to flash, since resetting the plunger the light has now stopped flashing and is now solid when i turn on the ignitionand goes out when ready, i will change the switch anyway just to be safe as i think that is causing the glow light to flash as when i touched the plunger it stopped flashing and that was the only thing i touched first so fingers crossed when the new switch is put in that that will cure it thanks for that mate smoggy -

hi guys ok i have resolved it for now the light was flashing so while i depressed the brake i pulled out the plunger let go and the flashing stopped, so i think it is the brake switch that maybe at fault here, i got to be honest but how the hell does this switch come out? many thanks guys smoggy7 -

hi thanks for that but can someone get a pic of the fuse / relay that was replaced as there is no 103 in my handbook for that thanks smoggy also what does this fuse/relay do as my car is running ok and it starts up ok will check it out tomorrow cheers -
hi guys i have read the posts about this but my car went for the m.o.t earlier today and passed on all , i got picked up from a rugby match at 7.30 and i noticed the glow plug light flashing , i cant see to it tonight but will have a check tomorrow, now all the break lights as far as i know off is working correctly and i have changed 2 bulbs earlier today the rear fog light and side light so not sure if this may have caused it, any thoughts on if the braking system is a all ok then where do i start looking many thanks smoggy
-
hi, i had this problem it was the glow plugs, it sounds as if it is, when you first start the car it sounds like a very heavy knock? then give it a min or two and it runs fine, i had this trouble and had the glow plugs changed around
-
hi ok if i got this correct you turn on the ignition while holding in the reset button and it clears it for 10,000 mile interval well it does on mine anyway smoggy
-
hi matt, yip it is correct they changed the whole unit i checked it before we left the garage brand new unit and got the receipt for my service history so i think you are correct they will take the old unit to their workshop now and replace the glow plug for someone elses car poor gits oh well happy now car was boiling in just a few mins earlier so cant complain thanks again smoggy
-
hi guys ok went to get the car and guess what? yes youve guessed it they changed the whole unit not the internal fault no surprises there then, brand new unit , i cant get over how lazt these people really are instaed of dismantleing it they go for the easy options oh just put a new one on it so will keep an eye now just in case but all done and dusted now thanks matt and for the input from you all laters smoggy
-
hi, ok i would check the fuses first as i had this problem with my galaxy, if your switch isnt working on numbers 1-2 which turns the air con on its the resistor on the side of the fan housing about ten min job well thats all it took me it was green on mine but there are other colours, once fitted all numbers and air con works great now common fault on these but best of luck finding it smoggy
-
hi matt, i just come off the phone to the dealer and all they told me was it is an internal fault with the heater so not sure which part has gone will ask when i pick it up in the morning part ordered but cant get here until tomorrow will inform you later thanks smoggy
-
hi guys, havent heard nothing as yet but as you know the dealer will not dismantle the unit to get to the glow plug, their answer will be ok we will change the the whole unit i bet any money on it if it is the glow plug far from useless as the time it takes them they rather just change the whole unit, so just waiting now for the call to tell me what it actually is, my theory is its pump is injecting to much diesel which isnt getting burnt so it overflows the chamber so it has to leak out and smoke like hell, apart from this heater the car has been excellent, i seen the new s max yesterday what a car very nice piece of kit i must say more buttons than a swiss army knife lol, i dont like the shape on the new galaxy but guess what it hasnt the aux heater under the passenger side thank godlol speak later smoggy
