  1. Just got back from holiday and the kids couldn't get out of the n/s rear door. Tried various ways of opening it, but the inside handle stays in the locked position. Any ideas? Also had the coil pack fail while on holiday. I could see the spark tracking up the casing. AA man had one on the van!!!
  2. Queen + Paul Rodgers (Especially the bootlegs of the gigs I was at) Meatloaf Manic Street Preachers Pink Floyd Currently in player - Best of Jackson Browne Boz Scaggs David Nash Any piece of music I need to learn for Airheads duties (My name is Paul, I am an Airhead)
  3. I honestly don't believe anyone when they say they never speed Buy a satnav system then sign up for speed camera updates - I use pocketgpsworld at
  4. I bought 3 spare pda pens from eBay last week for under a fiver
  5. BigDaddy The OS mapping software is now available - http://www.callnetuk.com/home/shanks/GPSMap.html I emailed him a couple of days ago saying it didn't work on the Pin570, he sent me a logging version to test, I sent the log back, he sent me a new logging version, I sent the log back and now the new program is available, all in the space of 5 days - this guy deserves success!!
  6. Good choice - I bought one a couple of weeks ago. I got the Camera Database installed yesterday (ww.pocketgpsworld.co.uk). Better make sure you get a screen protector. The power connector is crap - I've broken my 12v lead already, just ordered another from eBay. If you're after OS mapping as well, GPSMap-OS is freeware and the Pin570 version is being written at the moment.
  7. My ABS light came on last night. Went to the usual suspect - N/S sensor plug, but still faulty. Steam cleaned the car, went for a drive - fault gone! This morning - ABS light on again  Fault code read: 01276 ABS Hydraulic Pump (v64) 16-10 Signal Outside Specification - Intermittent Can't find this code in my lists
  8. I've just ordered a NAVMAN PIN 570 pda with satnav. Halfrauds want
  9. To cable tie the cables in place, I didn't remove anything. As you can see from the photo, there's also a gas kit in ther, so you will probably have more room than I did.
  10. Just got a photo, follow the red arrow http://www.paulcollins.f2s.com/cables.jpg
  11. Sounds like the cable has jumped out of the bracket on the gearbox, then eased it's way back in over time. Sorry I can't get photos, my 2.0l would look a bit different to yours. Looking under the bonnet, look to the right, on top of the gearbox, slightly back from centre, you will see too shiny rods going left to right. These are the cables. Trace right to the ball joints. Trace left to the cable outers. The outers slot into a u shaped bracket bolted to the gearbox, make sure the outers are firmly in the slots. If they keep jumping out, an hour of swearing will let you put a cable tie around the bracket to encourage them to stay in/
  12. I've just finally escaped my job. I quit last year, intending to do some agency work, then it looked like SWMBO would lose her job at the same time, so I had to stay. Two weeks ago, another driver quit, because his run was crap, he was always finishing late. I knew I would be moved onto that run, so I printed up some A5 flyers offering a driver. Before I got the chance to post the flyers around the estates, I heard a rumour that a driver was leaving a local company. A flyer went through the letterbox on Sunday, they phoned at five to eight on Monday, Interview at two, offered the job at ten past :P went into work on Tuesday and was given a run that was impossible to do. The afternoon run started at four thirty, instead of one thirty, theat was when I knew I had made the right choice so I handed my notice in the next day, just after the boss held a meeting to tell us how wonderful his new plans were. The new plans might work, but it's probably just the same old crap. Only problem, switching from weekly to monthly pay, although the bank have helped with that as well.
  13. Even if you have a wiring diagram, just use it as a guide and check each wire with a multimeter or bulb
  14. It wasn't me  Though I do admit to being in the vicinity, but I didn't have a trailer
  15. The Cobra 1046 will flash the indicators
  16. I towed a caravan for 10 years without a stabiliser and never had a problem. Borrowed a caravan a few years ago and fitted the stabiliser at the van owners request. I didn't notice anything, but then never having had a problem, perhaps that's my driving. BUT... Being a 1500 mile a week driver, having seen caravans get into trouble almost daily, I wouldn't tow without a stabiliser these days. Perhaps it should be a law based on the towed trailer weight.
  17. Been running Opera for at least six years now, also have all my email & newsfeeds on it. And I've got it on my mobile :(
  18. I've got a closed loop lambda controller on my LPG system. It consist of a controller that reads the lambda probe, throttle position and RPM. This controls a stepper motor valve in the gas line from the 'vap to the mixer. It's made by Lektron and called a co.re.gas controller. Having looked about on the net, it seems these system cost about
  19. Unusual that it idles better on petrol than LPG, most cars are the other way round. Is the LPG system lambda controlled? My closed loop lambda controller regulates at all engine speeds. You can here the servo ticking on idle. Even a basic LPG lambda system will have indicator lights to show mixture, if yours has one, look for green & red leds on the controller. Check all the usual LPG suspects, especially ignition, but it doen't sound like an ignition problem. I'm wondering if your evaporator needs a tune, changing the lambda probe could have sweetend thing for a while. Have a look on http://www.my90.zenwebhosting.com/cgi-bin/...s.cgi?pg=topics Steve at GO LPG, Keith Woods or CS Autogas all post on there and seem to know their stuff. Let me know what you find, always useful LPG knowledge.
  20. Any Lambda controlled injection system (ie. all cars with cats) should regulate the fuel closely enough that there isn't any overrun fueling other than that needed to keep the engine running. Even my LPG system doesn't over fuel. One other tip about a cat, if you've got a rattle that sound like baffles breaking up, check the heat shield, one jubilee clip later, everythings quiet. Good tips though, especially the long grass
  21. Just had a look in the box, no installation instructions, just the user manual. But I could scan it if you need it.
  22. Just a note to say they're looking into it. If it wasn't for the windscreen repair, I would just forget it, can't be arsed to waste energy going after them. But I WILL get my money
  23. Had a few problems: Rear wiper wiring Fog light wiring Relay 30 Brake light switch Door trim that won't stay on Door locking on one door Baffles gone in exhaust Seized rear caliper Done 22k on LPG since buying, LPG needed a retune (did it myself), new LPG filler fitted, cambelts done. All brakes changed. Less than
