I believe this is normal.......it stops you accidently pressing the button in your pocket. Just as one of the kids puts his head out the window.. ;) Global closing should still work with the key though. I don't know if this remote closing feature can be activated via programming the ECU or whether it is fixed.

Assuming that you are in this picture..... Are you holding your weapon...

Wanli are part of the "South China tyre & rubber company" and are the best selling brand in China. Looking at the reports on google...... Upon reading these reports, as suspected, most of them are from idiots. People say they don't hold the road well....think about this..... you have just changed from bald, or baldish tyres to ones with a deep tread....the vast majority of the time in this country the roads are dry....which tyre has better grip ?... muppets! I have yet to see a believable report on any tyre......I will go with the experience of the users on this forum.....anyone got these ? If 1,400,000,000 chinese say they are good.....who am I to argue. Best Brand Tyres

Adding Traction Control

Yeh but not if the MOT is due...still got a few months to go. I will have to beat sensor with hammer again.. -
Nope, you have a great big, big, big heater in there ( aircon as well on some models ). Possibly you could make use of the right hand side, take out the jack etc and stow them under the front passenger seat. With some modification you may be able to do something.

Adding Traction Control

Most people just floor the brake and freeze.....usually this is the only option. I don't like the idea of mowing down pedestrians on single carraigeways...although better than steering to the right into oncoming traffic. Dual carraigeways are likewise, big wagon or barrier. If you don't drive up the @rse of the car in front your brakes will be fine and you will easily stop in time. And just to spite me my ABS on the Gal has packed in again, has been ok for the last 3 months. -
Adding Traction Control

That inspires me with confidence ! Good points SK. However my main worry is that all these gizmo's ( gimmicks in my book ) encourages inexperienced drivers to think that the car will protect them in all circumstances and rely far too much on these devices. How many people think that because they have ABS they drive up the backside of the car in front. Doubtless people with ESP will think they can just throw the car around corners and drive on ice and snow as if it was a normnal road. I prefer to rely on not getting into trouble in the first place. If people didn't drive like idiots they wouldn't need this stuff. And apologies for being sarcastic to insider...just had an argument with the dragon and I was in a bad mood. Still say bring back rear wheel drive.. -
Adding Traction Control

I don't think there has ever been a case of ABS saving someones life...it has killed a few people though  By the way traction control doesn't work on black ice.. Anyway, back to the technical questions..... If you are intent on this you will need, for starters, to replace your brake servo and some of the associated pipework. Also the hydraulic control unit will need replaced and most of its associated pipework. Also the ABS ECU will need replacing. There will be other items but these were the most obvious. -
That is a diesel oil isn't it ? Also be very wary about engine flushing.......one of the most popular ways to destroy an engine.....imo.

Do a search on the web for odbii software, there are plenty available from various sources.

"I have now removed it as the car is sold" What does he mean by that ? He removed it and then sold the Car ........! ! Looks a bit dodgy to me...I reckon this is a dud one that was previously replaced.

Adding Traction Control
big_kev replied to insider's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I am not a fan of any of these. ABS......when I put my foot on the brake, I want to brake, I don't want a dodgy compter to decide it doesn't want to ! Traction Control ( inc. ESP ).......same issue again I expect to feel the slippage of the wheels when I do something wrong I can then correct for it......these.....especially esp......encourage you to just throw vehicles around corners and let the computer auto correct for you.........the problem with this is that there is no feedback......you don't feel it start to slip.....it just suddenly goes and you are way past the point of no return and off the road or into oncoming traffic. Nah......best to learn to drive properly and FEEL what's happening. Just my opinion....maybe I'm getting old......bring back rear wheel drive....much nicer to drive. -
Anywhere is a much nicer place to visit than London................except perhaps Slough !

I would think on the return to the tank ( after it has been near the hot engine thingy )... I am not sure what you mean by "on the way to the tank "
-
Reason for fuel cooler: Maintaining a steady fuel temperature is essential to achieving the performance and clean running of Tdi engines. Without this provision, the bulk fuel temperature in the tank would steadily rise in use. Under high pressure injection conditions, overheated fuel would markedly reduce the fuel delivery from the injectors. While the ECU can compensate for reasonable fuel temperature variations by adjusting the fuel mapping,

Try here for the software.....there is a free version available. http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/download/ Read the instructions as to which lead is suitable with the various versions. NOTE: The software will only "speak" to the VW components ( your engine is a Ford ).
