Emmisions Classification For Galaxy

What model engine do you have....? -
Naughty ;) If only it worked that way....nope....flatland is more economical. :25:

Ok, new Comapny Golf turned up today to replace the older identical model. Noticed when driving that the Cruise Control Light actually works properly....! I have had the previous Golf and also for a short period of time have driven MK2 Galaxies and Sharans. All these vehicles have never had a properly working Cruise Control Light. What has been happening ( and I believed this to be normal at the time ) is that when you switch the toggle switch on the stalk to "on" the light comes on and when you switch it to "off" the light goes off. This has been independent of whether the cruise control has been set, unset or whatever and has just been working in synch with the on/off switch. It has always been like this on all the VW based vehicles I have driven. However on this latest Golf the cruise control light only comes on when the cruise is "set" as soon as you touch the brake or clutch the cruise control light goes out and doesn't come back on until you either "set" or "restore" the speed...ie it works the way I would have expected it too if I had never driven these previous vehicles. How does everyone elses light work ? ( obviously some models do not have this light anyway ).

Scratched to burggery where it has hit kerbs and speedhumps. Why do people insist on putting these bodykits on vehicles.....this is why they come out the factory with a decent clearance underneath....it wouldn't cost them any more to put low slung bodywork on....but they would have a hellish amount of complaints. Although I think the lights and grill look nice..... Wheels look ok to me....depends on taste I suppose.

Is it just coincidence or is it mainly flatlanders getting this good (60mpg+ ). Anyone who knows what a hill looks like getting anywhere near this.

And there is me thinking it was the bloody caravans to blame for holding the traffic up.... :25: Now we know who it is..... :D

Yep its true, no doubt about it... ;) The government statistics into deaths caused by external influences.....a Brick, a Knife, a Car, a Bus..... Show beyond any doubt than Men lead the way when it comes to this particular form of demise. Staring at an early age we seek out and locate dangerous objects and situations and unselfishly throw ourselves in harms way. Into the toddler stage we leap ahead 200% ahead of the girlies due to our advanced hazard perception . By the early and late Teens we are 300% ahead of the girls as we willingly throwing ourselves at hard objects in sheer stupidity. During the late twenties we continue to forge ahead in spectacular fashion, usually involving motor vehicles and alchohol. We reach our ultimate performance peak in our early to middle thirties when with our learned knowledge and experience we achieve a self kill ratio of four to one in comparison to the ladies.... ;) Even into our forties and fifties despite middle age taking its toll we manage to sacrifice ourselves at a rate of almost three to one. As we approach retirement, even with our aching bones and depleated numbers we still endeavour to maintain the 200% mark. Only when we reach our eighties do the women catch us up. This is mainly because most of us are dead . I always knew we were better..... ;)

IIRC the MK1's don't have any fault indication from the Booster Heater......VagCom will not show anything with regard to it. Check you actually have a heater.... Some people have been known to remove it before selling the vehicle.... ;) .....just my little joke. -
Under Scottish Law it is exactly the same....the defendant is aquitted of all charges. Also the defendant cannot be recharged for the same crime....identical to "not guilty". It is basically used as a cop out for the Jury where they are saying "we believe the defendant is guilty but there is insufficient evidence to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt"........a bit unique to Scotland as in most other countries this would be classed as slander/libel. In this particular case "in my opinion" the Judge misled the jury on a point of law....ie that regarding a medical condition.

Engine Cutting Out From Hot Start

The symptoms you describe would indicate a problem with the Passive Anti Theft system. Haven't heard of this particular scenario before. Maybe one of the other forum members has.... seems quiet today.......maybe they are all at the church.! -
He walked as free as a bird and still has a full driving license. I don't think we need to see a full transcript of the case to conclude that this disease that was only "diagnosed" after the event seems to have been very convenient for the accused. However my strongest point is this direct quote from the DVLA. "Even if a medical condition is the cause of falling asleep at the wheel, it is not an excuse in law." The judge directed the jury otherwise !.....

Looking For A Replacement Galaxy

I would check the roof for skidmarks from low flying aircraft. I think it has seen a few trips to Leeds airport in its time.. -
Is this the same as the Diesel Demand Pedal Sensor ?

You FAB now then... -
I would think that the likely culprit would be either the brake or clutch switches ( assuming you have a manual gearbox ). If either of these are dodgy.....which is extremely common...then the cruise control system would think that one of the pedals had been pressed and would disengage. Might just be enough movement on them when coming out of a dip for them to be affected. Reasonably cheap to replace....smart money would be on the brake switch . Just noticed nik beat me to it...

You own a Galaxy and a Wife......that's 2 points on the madness counter.. :P
