  5. The booster heater appears to be a common fault because when it fails the vehicle will still run ( for years and years) and it has no effect on the MOT. When it packs in it has a tendency not to get fixed, some drivers who were unaware of it may not even noticed that it has failed. Therefore there will be a lot of tdi's out there with faulty booster heaters as they tend to get put at the bottom of the list of repairs.

  7. If you lift the wheel up to take the pressure of it then it will turn vertically and go through the wheel. May be a bit stiff but it will go.
  8. Now, now, Mr Grumpy calm down a bit, the guys a newbie. Antony can you double check your engine type either from your docs ( or preferably the timing belt cover or engine ). It should be marked somewhere AHU or ANU or AFN or AVG or AUY. Personally my money is on AFN.

  11. Hope you remembered to strip bits off it (wiper mechanism, MAF, radio etc )and sell them on ebay.

  13. I blame all the people who were gullible enough to vote labour. Go on then.....hold your hands up :o
  14. Push the clutch pedal to the floor...keep it down. Pull on the plunger that sticks out the bottom of the switch....it is very stiff but it will move. It has a ratchet type mechanism inside and if you pull it down as far as it goes then when you release the clucth pedal it will automatically adjust back to the correct length.

  16. Is the green for the MK3 ? I wouldn't advise mixing them. Mind you the way it leaking from your PS ( allegedly :46: ) The red stuff should run out soon.

  18. Push clutch pedal to the floor. Pull switch piston out to max. length. Release clutch pedal and switch will self.adjust to correct position.

  25. Not seen them two but will keep an eye out. Only recalls I have seen are: Fuel line......may disconnect from tank...whoooosh! Heated windscreen.....not earthed properly....possible fire risk! Panoramic Roof.....may not actually be attached to the car.....hmm! Brakes....may not work properly in cold weather....oops !
