I was always told to change discs every 3rd change of the pads, or if there was serious disc scoring, thinning or corrosion. I would get the free check at local kwik-fit, then you can see what needs done to your brakes. Me? I would change the Pads and stop worring about it.

Only owned mine 9mths and only replaced the brake switch so far, oh and the remote key dont work. Very happy with it, but I wish now I had keeped my v6 espace.

never thought of that cheers vr6, I think the key works ok (the little led on the key flashes) and the when I do the key in door turn 3 times procedure the led on the door lights for 15 secs, but it will not flash accepting the key, so is the key actually transmitting and is the led on the key only flashing because thats what its suppose to do AAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH

Seatkid Yes same procedure as in my book, but when all done the led on the door does not flash and the key wont lock/unlock remotly, if I disconnect the battery for a few hours do you think it will reset itself and then accept the key,,,, fed up locking/unlocking manually, might just buy a replacement of ebay ,Cheers

Go to Halfords and buy a new one (bulb and holder = one unit) think it is only

here's another one for seatkid, my GEM goes into programme mode, but it will not accept the key, (needed to reprogramme the key after battery change) any idea what it may be, I was also told the system uses a rolling code and to many presses of the key without locking/unlocking can put the key out of synch, is this true?

The correct way taken from the owners handbook Put key in drivers door turn to unlock 3 times holding the key in the unlock position for 1/2 second on each turn, then take key out of lock, point it towards the rear veiw mirrior and press and hold down the unlock button while pressing the lock button 3 times, the little led on the door will flash if successfull if it does not flash it was unsuccessfull all remote keys must be programmed within 15 seconds of each other hope this helps

I assume you are talking about the fold down table, on your mk1 it is held by little plastic pins that you must slide out , 2 on the table and 2 on the little ram thingy, were the ram is attached to the seat, the little square cover pulls off. hope this helps
