hi all i have a 97 2.8v6 ghia x when iam in traffic the temp gauge goes right up just into the red then both fans cut in a pulls the temp back down ive had this checked out in a garage and he said that the water temp (tested it with a temp laser gun) was not getting as hot as what the gauge was saying weather you can test the water temp like this i dont know when you have two fans on the rad should one come in before the other to stop the gauge reaching the red and then if it goes into the red both fans cut in like a emergency to get the temp down if this is right what can be stopping the first fan cutting in a reasonable temp please help as wife is driving me mad thinking the car is going to blow up thanks dave

HI THERE COMMON PROBLEM THINK ALL MOST EVERY GALAXY OWNER HAS HAD THIS FAULT blocked scuttle drain GO TO FAQ WHEN LAST LOOKED NO14 THERE IS SOME GREAT AVICE ON UNBLOCKING ALSO CHECK UNDER PASSENGER SEAT WILL BE FULL OF WATER AND SITTING IN THIS WATER IS A ELECTRICAL BOX UNPLUG AND PUT IN A WARM PLACE AND HOPEFULLY ALL WILL BE OK IN THE MORNING TO PLUG BACK IN HOPE THIS HELPS DAVE

there are a few wires coming of it and as i said the hose was off what would this do

hi all when unblocking the dredded gullys i found a black box with some wire on it and a tube which had come off ive put it back on but does anyone know what this box is its drivers side wheel arch many thanks dave

hi thanks for that i did think that but it only get wet when it rains so i sort of ruled that one out but cheers away

spent the morning looking at this problem all the rain channels under the bulkhead and the ones in the sunroof all clear poured water around sunroof and it came out under wheel arch and did the same around the windscreen and the same poured out from wheel arch so no problem there someone said about the pollen filter it could be leaking there is this something easy to check and to repair many thanks dave

hi all i have a ford galaxy 1997 i was wondering if any one can help when it rains the passenger foot well fills up with water and goes under neath the chair into where the box for all the doors and windows (what a silly p;lace to put this box) making the windows and door unlock themselfs ive checked the sunroof and all dry also dry around the door rubbers please can any one help rain rain go away many thanks dave

Just done one with a similar problem to yours. The selector shaft had seized in a needle roller type bearing on the box you are talking about. When you remove the reverse switch you can see the shaft and that is where the bearing is. The bearing cost

the garage have said that it was this box that was at fault and charged me

hi all i have a ford galaxy 2.8 v6 ghiax 1997 mk1 for the last couple of days we have had trouble getting any gear even with engine off and with no foot on the cluch the gear stick seems very stiff then it seem to get a bit better then today it went cant get any gear at all got it to a garage and they checked the cable and said that was ok so it looked like it was the gear box then the garage phoned and said that there is a box on top of the gear box which could be at fault but they want 2 hours labour to check this box out can any body help with what this box maybe and if it can cause this sort of fault or is the garage just trying to get a few quid out of me hope someone can help cheers dave
