  1. Faulty or gummed up Idle Control Valve.
  2. It sounds like it. Have you tried checking all the connectors etc?
  3. Thats about a half a mile from me!
  4. Tis a thing of beauty though, thats for sure... http://www.funonthenet.in/images/stories/frontend/Millau_Viaduct/millau_bridge_over_tarn_river_france.jpg
  5. Most likely a wheel bearing, but I tend to resist diagnosing sounds on the Internet.....
  6. That bridge is so impressive that you just know that the French never designed it!
  7. Any chance of pictures?
  8. Well the main problem is getting the old bearing out. It might just drive out with a suitable sized pipe used as a drift, or pull out using a pipe & end cap with a hole drilled through it and some threaded rod to pull it with. I have not done the job on a Galaxy my self, but I have on other cars, and the main problem is the bearing has to come out evenly as it jams if you pull or drift it out squint.
  9. Anyone else use their Galaxy for shifting bikes? What about you MumOf4 do you have a big rack?
  10. Oh you can do it in situ if your the A Team. You need to find a way of getting the old bearing out and the new one in. With a bit of assorted kit like pullers and threaded rod and ingenuity it can no doubt be done.
  11. Your giving MO4 your address? With her reputation?
  12. You need to use it because the system contains oil that stops the rubber seals from shrinking and drying out. The oil is carried round the system by the gas in the system.
  13. When the scuttles are blocked it is possible that the wiper motor ends up sat in a pool of water. This does the motor's control unit no good. Check the whole lot has not got soaked through and spray with WD40 to drive out any moisture, wipe off any excess WD40 and spray with ignition sealer to waterproof it.
  14. You have a R reg Sharan? That is a MK1
  15. I have VAG-COM and a 1998 TDi with booster heater and mine will not talk to VAG-COM. I have even checked the impedance of the wire that it connects down.
  16. An ex of mine used to enjoy being chained to the kitchen sink........
  17. Hmmm, tempting offer, but the mirrors I already have would get jealous!
  18. I pick up 180 tonnes of milk a week from a dairy in Huntingdonshire, I know that dairies stink! HTF did you get 22 litres of unleaded in the boot? Had the filler hose split?
  19. You still pimping the mirror hun?
  20. Ah, there is a job! You either need the patience of a saint or the ingenuity of the A Team to get the bearing out of the bearing housing. Or take the bearing housing off and take it to an engineering shop and get the old bearing pressed out and the new one pressed in.
  21. Mine does similar and the wires have been repaired! I still seek the answer.....
  22. My money is on an air lock. The engine is heating up as normal so there should be hot water available. Try taking the expansion bottle cap off and running the engine from cold up to the point where the radiator fan comes on.
