  1. It is under the trim below the steering wheel on a MK2.
  2. Changed the poll? Is that even possible?
  3. What takes the human body 24 hours, but the catering department can do in one? Turn food to sh...
  4. Actually, there is, I have several a week, sometimes several a day! And I mean FREE, not inclusive, a perk etc, just a free lunch....  :D really? If you get it through work or a client/customer - HMRC (inland Revenue) says it is subject to tax and NI as a benefit.... If you get as part of travel arrangement (airline meal etc) you will have paid for it in the price of the ticket which if it is through work is either by way of payment/entitlement for your work and might be subject to tax and NI If your granny gives it to you, in theory it is a gift which may be taken into account in Inheritance Tax. If you find it in the street, then subject to bounty laws......... If your wife gives it to you then expect to pay later..... Nope, no such thing as free lunch.... I am neither a client or a customer or even is it a regular thing, some days you do, some you don't. So it is not a payment in kind or a gratuity as I only park on a loading bay and do no work. It is free....
  5. Have disconnected MAF and car is performing much better! You state that leaving it disconnected will not cause any problems, therefore is it worth spending the money to replace the MAF? will I get even better performance with a new MAF connected then running with faulty MAF disconnected? In the short term it will be fine, but as MO4 found out, when you fit the new one you will wonder why you waited!

  7. Ah, the joys of a mis-spent youth! Downright Nasty: You're not just a law breaker, you're a pretty evil person… Some of those things you have done are gonna put you on a one way escalator going down when your time is up. Give up hope of changing, you're a lost cause! Based on your answers, we have calculated the maximum penalty for your crimes*: Years in prison: 132 Potential fine:
  8. Mine certainly don't but mine is a MK1, the wiper electrics are different on a MK2. Can anyone help with this?
  9. Surface cracks are OK, just lookout for the sub-surface ones!
  10. I drive a lorry doing collections for a supermarket chain and get fed at all sorts of suppliers premises. On sunday it was chicken in black bean sauce with egg fried rice and prawn crackers at a North London firm who supply just about every retailer in the UK with something. I used to do a dailly collection at the company who did the First Class & Concord meals for BA. Soon got sick of all that fancy stuff though!
  11. The increase in fuel consumption is because the clutch on the air con compressor has engaged and is transferring power from the engine. It only shows that the compressor is causing drag, nothing more than that.
  12. DON'T over tighten the PAS belt, it also drives the water pump and you will knacker the water pump. It should not be really tight, just tight enough not to slip. There should be 5mm movement up and down at the longest run of the belt, and if you have a torque wrench and a crows foot spanner then the correct setting on the tension setting nut for a used belt is 4Nm, which is not a lot. Or 7Nm for a new belt.
  13. Actually, there is, I have several a week, sometimes several a day! And I mean FREE, not inclusive, a perk etc, just a free lunch....
  14. I don't have anything to add to the above, but have known people in a Vauxhall performance car club I was a member of change their oil at silly low intervals thinking they were being nice to the engine's internals. I did a similar calculation then and came to the same conclusion, that they were throwing cash away.
  15. Bearing in mind that this engine is also used in commercial vehicles then can I ask where you got the figure from?
  16. Some cars only use one pump, reversing the direction of the pump motor to work the rear washer.
  17. And "Uncapped Downloads" means less and less now as more ISPs introduce "Fair Use" policys that say if you use too much, you get capped....
  18. A top-tip sir! I remember how I struggled as it fouled the pedal bracket.
  19. I wonder if I can retro-fit! Nah, too much hassle most likely!
  20. I presume this is just more modern versions?
  21. Seat Kids humor went straight over your head then......
  22. Sounds like wasted hours pulling the hoses off the turbo intercooler to me....
  23. No. The screens are the same. The only different screen has thin wires running through it for the windscreen demister. Other than that they are all the same size etc.
  24. http://www.evitamins.com/images/products/chillpillFUT.gif (Actually, that is the best rant on here so far M!)
  25. Comfort, space, versatility, bags of torque and good MPG are just a few of the reasons. Even the kids love it and get all grumpy if I take them anywhere in our other car....
