I wonder just how many Galaxy owners will have their windows down this hot weekend coming, instead of using their faulty air con, as its forecast up to 80C for most areas ! http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30000-1260364,00.html

There are unfortunately good doctors and bad, just like any other profession.........ALWAYS without doubt get a second or even third opinion you ARE entitled to this on the NHS.

Ringways Of Doncaster .....crap........
jkspoff replied to aslo12's topic in Dealer Service and Reliability (Galaxy)
Main dealers have absolutely no idea whatsoever when it comes to servicing the Galaxy, very little and out of date training for any new staff coming into the job apparently. This leads to some major errors when basic fault finding and servicing on the Gals. Combined air filter and pollen filter !!!! :) DO NOT USE MAIN DEALERS, DIY !! -
Lets Us Know What You Think Of Yours
jkspoff replied to jkspoff's topic in What thing irritate you about your Galaxy
Its most likely a very simple fix, the cable that runs between the pillar and the door is prone to splitting, there are lots of seperate wires, check through them and add a simple connector block or proper wire connector to repair it, mine was the same, it took less than 10 minutes to fix. -
Just spent the last couple of hours trying to find a rattle on the front drivers side between the door and dashboard, its driving me mad as its quite loud and repetitive, anyone had a similar experience other than those rattles listed above as I still don't think its sorted properly, even taken to jamming stuff between plastic panels and driving off then stopping and repositioning them ! HELP I'm going insane ! :D The last time I had this type of rattle with a Vauxhall Vectra I could never find it, not even the dealer, so I sold it !!

I agree about the poor Dunlops, however...............I was very surprised to find that my rear two Dunlop 2020's have lasted for over 60k on the rear, they are now swapped to the front and still on several thousand miles later, they do need replacing soon though. Well done getting the garage to fix your sills, I always make a point of telling them to be careful whilst lifting the Gal before hand, that way if they are crushed after they have to accept reponsibilty. I also leave a printout of the jacking points from Ford Tech info CD on the front passenger seat as a hint !

Do you get the flashing green light on the VAG COM lead at the vehicle end when connected ? -
Vag-com Connection Problems (again)
jkspoff replied to foxyfowler's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I kept trying for ages to get mine to work, eventually it did, I uninstalled the previous VAG COM driver and manually installed the top one from this link: http://www.autonostics.com/pages.php?pageid=3 Then it worked perfectly. Hope it helps. -

Sounds like this forum will be going on and on for ever, the new one sounds like its loads better than the old one, but new problems are creeping onto the forum from even the very latest version mkIII, oh well, onwards and upwards, I'll be reading issues on here when I'm 70+, and by then we'll be on Ford Galaxy mkXII with more faults !! Enjoy your motor and I hope to upgrade to one when my finances permit.

How Can I Get Ford's Attention?
jkspoff replied to BrummyGit's topic in Dealer Service and Reliability (Galaxy)
Excellent ! If thats what it takes now adays, then do it, although it would still seem it hasn't rectified his issue. Would like to know what eventually happened. -

Do what I did a few years ago, book it in and give them a list of jobs that need doing, get one of their courtesy cars and ensure that all the jobs are done to YOUR satisfaction before giving the courtesy car back. Use it in ransom to get the jobs done properly. I ended up keeping my free courtesy car for 2 weeks before being happy with the work, they were not ! I even got threatened with police action, however I pointed out that infact the car was insured in my name for that period and it was signed out to me by them, with no maximum loan period specified ! Try it, it might just work for you too. :D -
The best way would be to VAG COM it, it would show a 'flame out' error or the like, as it did on mine, find someone with vag com, or get a cheapo cable off ebay. It may be that the fault codes need clearing for it too, once again as mine did, worked fine ever since.

Thanks, another year wiser.........not !

Where and when did it all go wrong :( How wonderful the 50's and 60's must have been !

I was actually thinking a bit bigger scale ! There was a recent comp on another site that offered

I have noticed on a few other car forum web sites that they have a competition every now and again, free to enter, but they get a company to sponsor it for a bit of advertising via just a link. They can offer anything from a discount voucher to filters or whatever, just an idea maybe for the forum management. ;)

I checked Tiscali for you and there is no mention of any current network fault issues. The vast majority of broadband disconnections are down to noise on the line. You have also got a very high speed connection, I would opt for a lower speed with more stability if it persists. Why not just try and plug it in the main socket for a short while, then you will know if it is down to the extension ?
-
Double check that you have filters plugged into every single telecommunication equipment, including sky digibox and all telephone extensions, don't run your broadband off an extension, plug it into the master house socket. That should do the trick. Is it wireless ?

I can't help you with your question, but I am jealous, as the car sounds superb and I would love one of the new ones ! I have a TomTom sat nav unit thats cheap and cheerful and amazingly accurate.

Get Ford parts to supply it, they can give you the exact correct one, they're only

Vag-com Connection Problems?
jkspoff replied to JohnR's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
You will only be able to selective fault code searches, not the full auto unless you have activated to the full version and paid VAG COM the $99. Do you get the successful connection message ?
