mines luke warm and my aux heater is working fine , i get the smoke screen thingy with the rear heater , its embarassing somtimes , esspecially in a petrol station when it decideds to smoke off :rolleyes: anyway have you tried your run on pump or your thermostat , my prob might be one of those. :lol:

where would i find the control relay and things to check , its only happened since i took the top hose of my rad off , the code 18080 means fan control circuit fault/short , down to earth , its strange it should do this fault when ive got things wet from draining the top hose i believe the run on pump comes from the feed for the fan control circuit. -

it was fine until i changed my radiator now ive got loads of problems , a leaky top hose and this run on pump its driving me crazy.the top hose needs a new o ring i think. -

if you turn the ign lights on and back off again you will here a click from under the bonnet then the bosch pump should run on , it did on my 115 gal , but now after a coolant change it doesnt for some reason , all i get is the click then the cooling fans kick in for a split second , is this normal? -

i think the 18080 fault is the fan motor relay circuit is it not with the orange scan thingy ive got , when i turn the ign on i can usually hear the bocsh pump kick up for a few seconds then goes off , now i cant hear it at all , plus i found the exp plug loose and it had run coolant onto the plug not goo , all dry now and the fault has gone , but this bosch pump not running worries me , looks an easy job but how can i test this? -

If you try and find the remote locking module, or does your car have infared sensors in the roof near the interior lights, the key you need is printed on the central locking control module, I don't know where that is sorry -

ive got 2 spare 5wk4 433 92 mhz 790/97/98 keys from a seat alhambra , ive coded them to my galxy so i know they work. -
hi after all my new rad work , ive got a hot coolant light on my dash from start up not when the engine is warm its there all the time and beeps 3 times to say theres a fault , ive plugged my code reader (orange one off fleebay) and the codes 18080 , ive got vag-com on my laptop and thats saying 01189 front air distrubution flap motor ,whats that,is it the bosch little pump behind the coolant fill up bottle? , i cant here it running now and i did last week , usually when i turn the ign on and off again it kicks in , all its doing now is i can here a relay click the the 2 front rad rand kick up for a split 2nd , does your gal do that? ive got to get it back on the rd next sat so im just stumped at the mo , thanks

just an update , ive finally done it inbetween work and kids commitments , ive built it all back up including a new condenser , i got both for £202 rad and condenser with dryer from euro car parts , my mate had some g12 to refil , only problem is now should i have replaced the o rings in the quick release hoses because the top one is dripping very slightly , im hoping i can do these without another strip down -

do i leave the water going through the egr heat exchanger , up to now ive blanked the egr outlet off refitted and put the 2 air pipes back on , took me ages to clean the dam thing out , the manifold looks very dirty aswell. i read a link about removing the egr and blanking it off on honest john site saying it is no good , ill try and find it . here ive found it , see what you think , im not sure i should have done it now. has anyone else done it?? FROM HONEST JOHN CAR REVIEW SITE ...On TDIs, EGR valve should open to allow carbon dioxide, which acts as a cooling gas) into the combustion chambers when the engine is under load (>30% boost). This allows the combustion chamber temperature to drop and thus the temperature of the exhaust gases. If it sticks in the closed position the exhaust gas temperature will rise causing a) the turbo bearings to fail and ;) engine oil into the induction system. This can cause the engine to run on its crankcase oil until it is either stalled or goes bang. Problems with EGR valves in TDI engines are often the cause of rough running when the valve is stuck in the open position as well. In several cases turbos have blown but the EGR valve has not been replaced. Inevitably the new turbo unit will not last long.

ive got a mk 2 pd 115 galaxy , ive removed my clogged up egr and pipe , but now ive heard that the engine light could come on , do i have to remove the egr heat exchanger? ive seen a post from mirez about taking it off , do i need to take this off if im blanking it off. also if i blank it off do i need to do anything with the vaccum pipes theres the egr pipe that connects to the flying saucer thingy and a pipe going to the anti shudder flap in the egr , this shuts when the engine is turned off to stop shuddering , im awaiting instructions before i rebuild it up , ive blanked the lower pipe on the egr with a can/tin , up to now. any help would be great cheers :angry:

hi ive just taken my inlet pipe off to my egr the big black one that clip to the rhs of the engine and noticed ive got a u shaped diesel pipe coming from my filter going to the high pressure pump its nearly worn thorugh and its worn right through on the part number all i can see is DE VRT 7M3 133 ***C YM 21 9N05 OA , im missing the stars , can anyone help i could do with this pipe i think a straight one would just kink.

hi my turbo goes into limp mode every now and again , has anyone used his innotec stuf and has it worked , looking aa the back of he ngine the 3 bolts tht hold the maifold from the turbo on look ok to get to , it says to bolta piece of card to the turbo there and spray the gel part 1 stuff in leave 20 mins then flush it out , is it really that simple , how do i work the actuator when its gelled up?
