Ewwww, it's soooo ugly and even wider than the Galaxy, plus the boot is so short (even if it's wide). No thanks

The C4 Picasso is only about 2 inches shorter than the Mark 2 Galaxy, and apparently it does not have a spare wheel/tyre, which rules it out as a family car as far as I am concerned. Even if I had money to change my Gal, I am really stumped as to what I would get. Same problem with lack of spare would put me off the latest Gal; Zafira, C4 Picasso etc don't seat 7 adults. 806/C8 have notable electrical gremlins and I think they look ugly, which leaves the Espace...but that has silly central digital instruments and an electric handbrake which is a pain to use (yup, I have taken a test drive).

I used to work somwehere with a guy who had a son who had "special needs" - he was wheelchair bound. His dad frequently took him there from Aldershot, Hampshire - quite a trek, so I guess it must be worth it. Look at the website (link is posted in another reply above) and get plenty of info before your trip, to make sure you see the things that you want to see. Good luck, and let us know how you get on.

The road pricing issue has me very worried, because they have not said anything definite about ending or significantly reducing the road Fund Licence or fuel duty if road pricing is introduced. Despite there now being over 300,000 names on the petition, the government has said it intends to go ahead anyway - 300,000 people who voted them into power in the first place and the government is now going to ignore them. Stop and think...with fuel tax at its current level, it costs around 12p per mile to drive anywhere  Most of the jobs for which I am suited have disappeared from the uK with the near-death of manufacturing industry. So I went to University for 5 years (which I did not enjoy) just so I could end up paying the bills at the end of every month and have nothing left over, no money for a holiday.. We are all paying heavily for stupid politicians and their idiotic policies over the past 30 years or more. Now we have to fund the war in Iraq  which none of us wanted (except B Liar aka Blair)

I've also had to sign in on some repeat visits over the past few days (today seems OK) - but then I have been having this problem on a few other forums I visit too :-(

It's part of the government's plan to bring the country to a halt and reduce accident rates still lower from their existing level... there is a level of risk associated with doing anything and the government seem to ignore this. Many roads round where I live have had their speed limits lowered for no apparent reason - there is one stretch which is now 30mph but used to be 70 in the 1970s when I was at school. Lowering speed limits can mean that driers relax more because they feel they are not travelling too fast so don't need to concentrate as much as before...hence increasing the risk of an accident. Personally I'd like to emigrate to America, the Land of the Free where the love affair with the automobile still reigns supreme

Mine goes in next Saturday for the dreaded MoT....I need to buy and fit 2 new wiper blades before then. Last 2 years I have had an advsisory "Unable to check under engine due to fitted undertray" or similar wording...I ask you!!!

Sort of off-topic...it's my dad's birthday on 4th..he won't quite be into 3 figures yet (70-something...)

The Harry Potter forums were also broken for a while yesterday - they went all blue like this forum......but no pic of Harry riding a Galaxy across the galaxy appeared.....

..and I'd never buy clothes (or footwear) off the internet. Must check the feel of the material, the true colour and size

My skin doesn't need updating; it's a bit pink and wrinkled but it does OK -

I have WAP on my phone and also never use it - it's so clunky as to be unuseable.

(1) Global warming used to be attributed to the South American rain forests being chopped down, until it got convenient for politicians to blame it on vehicle emissions so they could use it as an excuse for more taxes; (2) A single volcanic explosion puts into the atmosphere more pollution than all the vehicles of the world do, in over a year. Volcanic explosions are therefore more responsible than cars for causing global warming

that gadget's site says that the law was changed on 8 Dec regarding the wireless transmitters, which ties up with what I read a couple of months back, that the law would be changed in time for Christmas

CSV = comma separated variables. Depends on what satnav system you have

If I had the money to replace my Galaxy, I don't know what I'd buy. The latest one, and the S-Max don't have a spare wheel/tyre so that rules them out (plus I don't like their dashboards). The Sharan is pensionable and there seems no confirmed date for its replacement to go on sale. Previa will shortly be discontinued, Trajet is also pensionable. New Sedona is over-priced and apparently not that wonderful to drive. I would have liked a new Espace but despite its thinner A-pillars and improved forward-side visibility compared to the Gal, I still cannot get used to central digital instruments and that daft electric handbrake that is fitted to all but the base models. Just as well that I cannot afford to change my car, then !

Actually, I have another idea.... No - maybe not

Forget the rollerblind - the rear tapers and you8 will need to trim the edges plus find something to rest the centre on, else it will sag too much. Pieces of wood, a few bolts and a blanket are much better :D

Search engine??? I opened the bonnet and there it was .....
