  1. welcome to the forum.
  2. bloody hell, thats a good price for a recharge on aircon.just make sure they put the correct amount in. :)
  3. from my knowledge of mending my drivers side,i was lucky i didnt need the motor just the wires and spool so,from memory the coding was different on the mk1 motor compared to the mk2 now i dont know whether this was just an upgrade of codes or they are different?. im afraid unless someone else comes and tells you then it really is up to you on what you decide ;)
  4. bet he takes his cod liver oil, http://www.wimp.com/flexibleman/ and this might be his wife, ;)
  5. DONT DO IT,i went down the zaffy route for a while,ok ish sort of car but not a patch on the gals. YOUR REGRET IT IF YOU DO.
  6. well im glad you got the result you were after JK, just because you havnt got the gal dont be a stranger, you still have knowledge to share with us all. good luck with the new mota I GIVE IT 8-9 MONTHS,AND YOUR BE BACK. ;) :(
  7. there are differing opinions on this, according to the various threads the regulators are different sizes, but i thing i do know is the wires and the plastic spool are exactly the same length and dimensions in the mk1 and mk2. where abouts are you,as i have 1 in my garage.
  8. mmmm wonder what forum that is jay?????? ;)
  9. i know where theres a good looking galaxy for sale,1 of our members is selling 1. and its a 2004 54 reg, look at the pics. http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...c=19833&hl= jk ill be expecting a decent drink fella ;) ^_^
  10. no jet engine noise from the back means your booster heater isnt working, look in the tech section in faqs, sit back and spend the whole night reading up on it.
  11. cheers jon,thats what i was thinking(probably) ^_^
  12. so glad ive followed the chipping threads over the years :(
  13. sep i hope im am wrong, buying any new/used car is a lot of money and hard work, what i have been trying to say is get as much info(legally)and then once armed then they can decide what the best course of action is. i agree this forum is full of easy fixes etc where peeps can keep there hard earned in there pockets, its saved me a fortune. i for one wouldnt want to be in the position of having to fork out serious dosh if the new car you have bought turns out to be a lemon. if they have bought a car on the understanding that only a few minor things dont work i think i would be a little peeved in then finding out that its going to cost lots to get right. thats why i have said read up on here about the problems, then they can make the correct decision on what to do. i hope it turns out to be really cheap in getting these things sorted, but then again if not im sure you might want to help pay for the repairs if they take there time in getting the advice needed :( :D and hey if i could afford to put the petrol in even i might like to have a vr6.............but then again.
  14. make sure you phone the right people up,forearmed is forewarned etc that way when the dealer tries to backtrack BECAUSE HE WILL,then you can say THE LAW STATES THIS AND THAT,and yes keep us posted.
  15. not an expert, but im sure a dealer selling sold as seen is basically doing so to try and remove himself from the legal duty of sale of goods act. im sure ive read that this WILL NOT STAND UP IN A COURT OF LAW. plz plz contact the relevent peeps for advice. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Governmentciti...ights/DG_182935 and this 1 http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Governmentciti...ights/DG_183047 under the sale of goods at(iirc)you have 28 days to reject the car,but again do your reserch first and do it quickly, time is of the essence. hth a bit.
  16. mmmm, dont want to rain on your parade, but you sure this was a bargain??? just read up on here about 'air con' and you will soon realize that this might not be a cheap fix, rather an expensive 1.flashing control unit usually means air con recharge needed. gearbox/clutch problems are also not a cheap fix.again read up on here. you say you got it from a dealer?any warranty on the car? if not give it some thought, coz you could reject the car????
  17. do you hear the jet engine noise when you 1st start the car???
  18. nandj, did you not think about trying the fix yourself then?
  19. Doh! a bit a lateral thinking out side of the box (so to speak) and my PATS problem and only 1 working key is fixed. Top Man so tell all,so we can all have a bloody good laugh :D :D glad its fixed, wouldve cost you a tidy sum.
  20. well it was nearly that time of year again,so booked in for today and IT PASSED :D :( this time there was an advisory both front McPherson strut has slight movement at the upper attachment. now i might be wrong but i seem to remember reading on here that when the car is jacked up the suspension goes a bit loose???is that right or am i thinking of something else. was told basically not to worry about it!!!!! oh it was carried out at the same place as last year, nice little touch. they actually sent a reminder that it was due,now why cant every one do this?little things like this makes me become a repeat customer.
  21. is that the little red light on the drivers door? how fast is it flashing? if its only flashing every few seconds then thats the pats/alarm system working as it should, do a search on pats and all will be reviled.
  22. and for a few minutes after you turn the engine off.
  23. is there a reason why you cannot do this yourself?there are very detailed instructions in the faqs on how to do this.
  24. snooper what model do you have,mk1/2/3 but they do come out.
